Welcome to Pour the Wine. It's rom-com time where we'll sip some wine and review all things rom-com on the Hallmark Channel. I'm Amy.
Garry:And I'm Gary.
Amy:And it's time to Pour the Wine.
Garry:And what do we have today Pour it?
Amy:pour it, pour it, we have a Cab Sav, of course, and the brand it's a it. We have a Cab Sav Of course. And the brand.
Garry:It's a Josh A.
Amy:Josh Josh Reserve.
Garry:Yes, thank you very much.
Amy:We're fancy up in here.
Garry:It's a North Coast Vintage 2022. Big shock, here we go. Pour it, pour it.
Amy:Can we take a minute before we get into the review and talk about the Hallmark Upfront?
Garry:Yes.
Amy:Do you know what Upfronts are?
Garry:No, but you're going to tell me.
Amy:I'm going to tell you. Upfronts are basically when the networks and streaming services present their upcoming lineups for the next season. It's an opportunity to bring in advertisers and media buyers, and the Hallmark Up front was April 3rd.
Garry:April 3rd and we haven't talked about it yet.
Amy:April 3rd for the 2025-2026 programming slate.
Garry:All right Well.
Amy:There was a lot to unpack from it. Okay, there's a lot coming, so series-wise you'll see fan faves return like calls the heart, the way home and the chicken sisters got a season two. Yes, they'll be releasing more unscripted series. They say unscripted these days and not reality okay under the banner reality tv with heart all right which we, we really like um. Home is where the heart is. Yes, such a a great, great unscripted series.
Garry:I know Luke.
Amy:Luke and Olivia Olivia.
Garry:They do a really good job.
Amy:If you haven't checked that out, go to. That's only on Homework Plus right now and there are six episodes and we've watched every single one and loved every single one.
Garry:Yes, he's such a kind-hearted man.
Amy:But they're going to be bringing new shows, new unscripted series. The Motherhood is one of them and that's going to begin airing here pretty soon, in May.
Garry:Okay.
Amy:Connie Britton is the host, and you know Connie Britton, you know who that is.
Garry:No, but tell me Probably not.
Amy:Well, she was in the first, I believe the first season of White Lotus, but she was in Friday Night Lights, friday.
Garry:Night Lights she was the star of. Yeah, most people know her from that. I didn't watch that.
Amy:It's going to be a series that connects single mothers with experts in parenting, lifestyle and home. Oh cool, so that should be pretty cool. Yeah, they're also going to be bringing a series called Baked with Love Holiday, which leads me to believe it will be Baked with Love.
Garry:Spring or Baked with Love Summertime. Oh yeah, I see what you're doing.
Amy:So it's a family recipe bake-off with heartfelt stories behind the recipes.
Garry:Okay, that might be kind of cool. Yeah, that would be interesting. We like cooking shows, so Everybody wants their Nana's recipes.
Amy:Armed to Build is another series that's coming. It's advertised as delivering distinct life transformations to veterans and first responders, and Hallmark star Nikki DeLoach will host and it kind of sounds like she's going to be working with the community to honor these veterans and first responders, sort of like what was the Extreme Home Makeover? Where? They brought in the community to help families. They would bring in local businesses.
Amy:It kind of sounds like that, though I don't know for sure Another series called Daughter of the Bride Adult daughters helping their moms as they prepare for new love, new love interests, Sounds kind of cool. And the one I think sounds really cool which we should try to do, which I think would be really fun Murder Mystery House.
Garry:Yes, we should.
Amy:This one sounds really really cool. Hallmark mystery fans will be invited to stay in a mansion where there's been a murder. A murder, a murder. The guests narrow down the suspects, which are Hallmark actors, and they compete to find the culprit for a cash prize. They're looking for the murderer, murderer.
Garry:I just think that sounds kind of cool, which all my actor or actress diddy.
Amy:Yeah. So they have a lot coming up and of course, it'll be the 16th year of Countdown to Christmas and they're bringing 40 brand new original movies. We're going to be busy.
Garry:Busy busy.
Amy:Which is right around the corner really, when you think about it. So Busy, busy bees, which is right around the corner really when you think about it. So some kind of cool stuff coming up. And they also said the Lacey Chabert. I think it's called Celebrations. I'm not 100% certain about that. That's also coming back.
Garry:Okay.
Amy:I don't remember the name of that. Off the top of my head right now, that's okay, yeah, we'll get it for you, that's coming back All right, that's awesome there you go Upfront's, pretty exciting stuff coming.
Garry:Yes, it is, we're going to be busy.
Amy:Hallmark keeps chugging along, chugging along.
Garry:Yes, well, today we're reviewing the final Spring Into Love 2025 movie. Journey to you this day spring film aired on Saturday, april 19th 2025. If you missed it, you can catch it now on Hallmark Plus.
Amy:It's kind of cool, so you don't even have to record it. You can see it the next day on Hallmark Plus.
Garry:Yes, without the commercials.
Amy:Right, right, yeah, no commercials.
Garry:And, if you didn't know, the Day Spring movies are a joint collaboration between Hallmark and Day Spring, the Christian Carb Bible and gift retailer, so these movies are more faith-based. Last year during the holiday season, follow Yunderstar was a— Following, following, yes, yunderstar Following. Yunderstar was a Dayspring movie.
Amy:Right, and I'm not sure how many Dayspring movies there have been. I would have—a handful, I think.
Garry:Yeah.
Amy:But we really liked Following Yonder.
Garry:Star, it was a good one.
Amy:Yeah, that was a good movie. Check that out. That's also probably on Hallmark Plus.
Garry:Yes, you can get a lot of those movies on.
Amy:Hallmark Plus. Hallmark Plus.
Garry:So what are you going to tell us? Oh, before I do that, here's your wine.
Amy:Oh, hand me my wine. Last time I forgot to hand you your wine. Yep, he did.
Garry:It's all the way across the table. I need it. Let's take a sip before we get started here. Before we name all the actors and actresses in this one.
Amy:There you go. Sip sip, how is it?
Garry:Ooh, very good.
Amy:Very good, very good.
Garry:Okay, all right, so tell us who is in this one.
Amy:Who is in this one? All right, erin Cahill plays Monica Miller, and for Hallmark she has done a ton of stuff, just to name a few in 2024, she was in the series that aired on Hallmark Plus Hollidayzed which we really liked. She was in five episodes of that. She was in Deck the Halls on Cherry Lane, the Christmas Quest Autumn at Apple Hill. Those were also in 2024. Sorry, In 2023, she was in Christmas on Cherry Lane.
Garry:That was another good one.
Amy:Hearts in the Game and A Taste of Love. She was in Christmas Bedtime Stories in 2022. Every Time a Bell Rings in 2021. A Timeless Christmas in 2020. That's the one with the guy. We really like that one. I mean these have all been great, but that's where the guy travels what from? 1903 to 2020. He experiences a modern Christmas.
Garry:Yes, yes, that would be fun, huh, would you do it?
Amy:Her first one, I think, was in 2016,. Sleigh Bells Ring. Would I do what?
Garry:No, I'm saying, if you could time travel, would you travel?
Amy:I probably would. When would you go?
Garry:I don't know, the 80s, maybe I'd go back to the 80s every once in a while. I don't know what's in the future, so I don't know if I want to go there yet.
Amy:No, I'd probably go to the 50s. I like the. I don't know if I want to go there yet. No, I'd probably go to the 50s. Yeah, I like the 50s. Yeah, you do, although women were, you know, in the kitchen cooking not allowed. I mean, there are some downsides to a female being in, but I like the poodle skirts.
Garry:I was getting ready to say the poodle skirt, saddle shoes With the cat eyeglasses, with the cat eyeg's for sure.
Amy:All right, moving on. She was in a movie called Erin Cahill, was in a movie called Lauren and Rose in 2022. Okay, and she was in one episode each of House Castle and the Ghost Whisperer in 2010. All great series, all great series yes, Eric Valdez plays Luis. Did I say that right, luis. Okay, and I believe this is his premiere on hallmark, which is pretty cool and surprising. He was in the series superman and lois, not to be confused with luis super and Lois.
Amy:He was in 46 episodes of that between 2021 and 2024. Okay, he was in General Hospital 99 episodes of that between 2012 and 2013, and three episodes of the Gilmore Girls in 2004.
Garry:Okay.
Amy:Sweet and remember this is not everything they have been in, unless they've only had like two or three acting credits. But generally we just try to hit on a few. We definitely try to hit on homework, anything they have been in unless they've only had like two or three acting credits, but generally we just try to hit on a few.
Garry:We definitely try to hit on homework yes, the most recent ones, the most recent ones and then we try some series or movies that were popular, that we know yeah, because we'd be here all day right.
Amy:Some of these have a hundred plus yes, yes, is Isabel Brace, not exactly sure. B-r-e-s is how you spell her last name. She plays Consuelo. This is her Hallmark debut and she has a dozen or so acting credits.
Garry:Okay.
Amy:Mostly in Spanish productions, and the titles in English are Dismantling an Elephant in 2024, Waiting for Dolly in 2023. And she was in a TV series called Hospital Central, one episode in 2009. And I'm not reading the Spanish titles because I don't speak Spanish and I don't want to mispronounce it. Pep Tozar plays Ernesto Luis's dad. This is his Hallmark premiere.
Garry:His.
Amy:Spanish production titles in English are he was in a series called Delta six episodes in 2024,. Burning Body eight episodes in 2023, and Muted four episodes in 2023.
Garry:Okay.
Amy:Solal Balaish. I should have listened to this. He plays mateo and I apologize if I just butchered his name. I'm sorry, it's okay he plays mateo luis's teen, teenage son. He has three acting credits and this is his hallmark debut. He was in a movie called Experience 134 in 2025, and it's Amna in 2024. Oh, okay.
Amy:Yvette Filanc plays Olivia Monica's mom. She has 11 acting credits. This is her Hallmark debut, so we have like five Hallmark debuts, I know, wow. She was in a series called La Cancion, one episode in 2025, Anticio in 2024, and Breathless, one episode in 2024.
Garry:Wow.
Amy:Yeah, so those are the main characters in Journey to you.
Garry:A lot of first timers, huh.
Amy:Yeah, yeah, a lot of first time Hallmark. Well, what's?
Garry:interesting is, you know, Hallmark, they were like, okay, we're going to put five of these people together and see if we can get a movie and they were all great.
Amy:They did a great job, which we'll discuss.
Garry:We'll discuss here in a second, but first we have. Hallmark Trivia.
Amy:Oh no, when your voice changes like okay, trivia time, let's go. All right, oh boy.
Garry:So in 2022, hall 2022.
Amy:Oh usually you ask me to guess the year.
Garry:I know, but you know you just went with it. I was waiting for the question.
Amy:No.
Garry:I just thought I would just throw it out there.
Amy:So it moved from Hallmark Crown Media to just Hallmark Media, correct, oh, that's cool.
Garry:Yeah, okay, I actually like the crown, but hey, whatever you do, your Hallmark.
Amy:It's their business. They can do what they want.
Garry:I know right so it's time to drop the synopsis.
Amy:All right Journey to you. After missing out on a promotion, monica reluctantly walks the Camino de Santiago. She's surprised when, along the way, she finds inner peace and a potential romance.
Garry:Yes, she does.
Amy:I don't even know why they say potential romance.
Garry:Why it's Hallmark. Come on.
Amy:It's a done deal. It is a done deal.
Garry:So what did you think of it?
Amy:You want me to go first?
Garry:Yes, I want you to go first.
Amy:Okay, I loved it. Yeah, I really loved it. I thought it was just heartfelt and a beautifully shot film, which we'll talk more about the location using actually a legit, legendary pilgrimage. That's a legit. The Camino de Santiago is an actual pilgrimage that people do take. The flow was seamless and, overall, while it was serious, it didn't take itself so seriously, right, so it wasn't. I didn't view it as too preachy, which you know sometimes they can be, yeah, and I think it had great messages about slowing down love, family.
Amy:You know religion was in there, of course, life's expectations. I thought the chemistry between Monica and Luis was great.
Garry:Yes, I did too.
Amy:I thought it was. I thought the chemistry between Monica and Luis was great. Yes, I did too. I thought it worked, I thought it was smooth, it flowed nicely, and I'm loving these films that have the location be a main character.
Garry:You know, when they do location, it just makes the movie so much more enjoyable to watch.
Amy:Yeah, I thought it makes a huge difference from green screens, that's for sure I know so I mean, and it, while it wasn't filmed on the actual pilgrimage right on the camino from my understanding, but it was filmed in spain, in a town near madrid yeah, beautiful film yep, yep. And they, according to what I read, that this town had it all the waterfalls, the trails, so they kind of got it all there.
Garry:Right.
Amy:Which I thought was really cool.
Garry:Yeah, well, that's awesome.
Amy:What did you?
Garry:think Well, I too love the idea of three-generation family the grandfather, the father the son Along with a stranger and a guy Consuela taking a walkabout. I call them walkabouts but it's a pilgrimage, pilgrimage.
Amy:Drink some more wine, yeah.
Garry:All right, sharing each other's stories, life stories, you know, I mean, would you do that? Would you ever do that alone?
Amy:I have that as a question Alone.
Garry:Yeah, I wouldn't.
Amy:I don't know, I don't.
Garry:I'm not sure if.
Amy:I would do it alone. Yeah, I don't know.
Garry:It'd be scary.
Amy:Yeah, I'm not sure, if I'm that adventurous, I don't even know. My big thing like if that was something you wanted to do and you and I went. It sounds great. My big thing is food.
Garry:Yes.
Amy:Because I'm a picky eater. That would be my big. I would love to go to Spain, yeah me too. The architecture would be, beautiful. It would just be a beautiful Just the history it would be beautiful, yeah, and the history. So I'd love to go there. But my issue probably with the pilgrimage would be and I'm sure the food is great, but I'm just so picky and I have a thing about I don't always try anything either. So if it looks different or yeah, that would be my holdup, but the idea of it's great.
Garry:Yes, I think so too, but did you know that the Camino is also known as the Way of St James, which is a series of routes across Europe, primarily in Spain? Look at you that leads to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
Amy:I did not know, you looked that up.
Garry:Yes, I did, I'm impressed and I looked it up too.
Amy:I have all that in my notes, so I did know that just from research.
Garry:It's the traditional burial place of the Apostle.
Amy:St James. Yeah, isn't that crazy.
Garry:And apparently the French route is the more popular route that people take.
Amy:Right.
Garry:But I love the Spain route. Yeah, it's beautiful Isn't?
Amy:that yeah, so apparently it does take what do they say about? A month to walk it? I believe they, from what I read, they filmed this in two weeks, in February actually. Just in February they filmed it.
Garry:Okay, that's a quick turnaround. I think that is a quick turnaround.
Amy:Filmed in February, released in April. It's pretty impressive. I believe it was this past February and I've only had one sip of wine. I know right. But it's crazy that you brought that up, because I did read there were more than a dozen routes. It attracts more than 200,000 pilgrims every year.
Garry:Isn't that crazy.
Amy:Each year. Yep, that is just a little bit. Yeah, I mean, I think it's cool.
Garry:All right, well, did you have any favorite scenes?
Amy:I had a few. Did you have a few, or just?
Garry:a couple. I got three written down here. We can talk about them.
Amy:All right, so for funsies, I'm going to mention just when Monica walks into the room where she has to sleep. Oh, and it's all the bunk beds. I just thought that was a fun scene because her face was kind of like oh, okay, this is great, but she goes with it and she doesn't complain.
Amy:And Consuelo's like, oh, you've never been in a hostel, huh, she's like no, so I thought that that was kind of cute. I really enjoyed the devotional scenes. I thought where she's just sitting down, you know reading the prompts she's got a journal. So she reads the prompts in the journal and I just thought those every time they kind of showed that I kind of like that just sort of sitting being peaceful Once she calmed down you know she wanted to rush, rush, rush, and then she finally slowed down.
Amy:So I thought those scenes really worked, when Mateo and Louise have their talk and you find out that, you know, mateo was kind of afraid to talk to his dad, right, not afraid, but he just didn't want to.
Garry:Disappoint.
Amy:Disappoint him. Yeah, thank you. And then you find out Luis is like no, it's cool, I love you for whatever you want.
Garry:You know why didn't you tell me I love you yeah.
Amy:The letting go scene. Yes, I thought that was powerful, but sweet when they each talked about what they wanted to let go, and a lot of people do that kind of thing.
Garry:Yes.
Amy:And then any scene with Consuelo and Ernesto I thought was cute and funny and light and they just had a good banter and she was sort of like the conscience of the group, like the trail let it take you where you need to go. It will take you where you need to go.
Garry:It will take you where you need to go. Every pilgrim has their own walk or dance Right the.
Amy:Camino has its own rhythm and she kept telling.
Garry:Ernesto, that you know.
Amy:Yeah.
Garry:Ernesto was like. You know, louise has to teach his son the right way and she's like no, let him teach him the way he wants to.
Amy:Yeah.
Garry:And you know, because Ernesto is all about traditions and all that stuff, and you know his son was more of you know let my son do what he needs to do yeah. It's his life. Let him choose, make those decisions. But you want to hear my favorite scenes? I?
Amy:want to hear your favorite scenes.
Garry:Oh, I was just focused on me, sorry Okay, that's okay. Hey, it's about you girl, it's about you?
Amy:Yes, I do. I want to hear.
Garry:What were some of your?
Amy:favorite scenes Did we have the same-ers?
Garry:Yeah, some of them were. I mean, I liked when she sat down and was reading out of her journal. Her dad gave it to her.
Amy:Yes or didn't give it to From her dad Along to her.
Garry:Right, I like the scene where Monica and Mateo I think it was when they were in the market sat down and were talking to each other, mm-hmm, and Mateo confesses that he doesn't like sports. He's more into arts.
Amy:Yes.
Garry:And then she was like well then, why don't you just let your dad know? And he was afraid because he didn't want to disappoint him. But she was like do it you, because he didn't want to disappoint him.
Amy:But she was like do it, you'd be surprised. Yeah Right, and I think that works like with teenagers when they, if they won't talk to their parents, you know you hope they do find somebody they can talk to, that will offer them advice. So if you know a teen does come to you, then listen yeah. Yeah, listen yeah she was open and heard him and actually had a lot more in common with him. Right In terms of sort of being forced on the pilgrimage.
Garry:Yeah, that was funny. Yeah, Because they were both like so why did you come on this?
Amy:Yeah, why did you come on?
Garry:this my mom wanted me to get out of the house. Well, in this case it was country.
Amy:Right, right. She said yeah, that was cute.
Garry:That was funny. Another one was, like you said, when they came upon the post, where you leave things behind like the rock, and then you tell why you're letting go of something, right, I thought that was a really touching scene. You know, they each gave a reason why. You know they're leaving the rock, or I think she left a pamphlet behind.
Amy:Oh yeah, she did, yeah the Caminolet behind. Oh yeah, she did, yeah the camino.
Garry:yeah, yeah, she did and then um, when louise finds the picture of monica's mom and dad yes that was a pretty cool yeah um, not expecting scene, but we'll talk about it more later on. So those are my three favorites. Those are your three faves.
Amy:Yeah, yeah, you know, when you were talking about the letting go, ernesto says I kind of wrote that particular one down, letting go of my judgments, trusting the paths they choose, and that's kind of what you were talking about. Like you sort of want your kids sometimes to go a certain way and you want them to teach their kids the same thing and you know sometimes you do have to let it go, because they're going to find their own path they're going to go their own way at their own pace, and sometimes it's hard and frustrating, but it's not your journey, it's theirs, you know right.
Amy:So, yeah, I thought that that was I. I really enjoyed that scene too. And then luis is letting go of the guilt yeah right of not being enough for his dad or his son or in general. So, yeah, I thought that worked. Yeah, so biggest cheer for the movie.
Garry:Biggest cheer I had a couple. I liked it when Mateo found his dad's letter in his book bag.
Amy:Yeah, that's right.
Garry:That's right, and he realizes that his dad is on the Camino because he wants to get closer to him and, you know, do this with him and his dad as a family and I just I thought that was really cool and then I loved how it was shot on location you mentioned it earlier, but yes, that location beautiful, scenery beautiful architecture it was great. What about I thought?
Amy:that was no. I mean, I um kind of along with what you said. I have the location. Of course it was gorgeous. It becomes its own character yes, right, but it does make such a difference, I think, in the movie itself. So that would be a cheer for me as well. I thought the overall messaging you know, slow down. I think the advice of be still is spot on and we try to do that. You know, just be still.
Garry:Exactly.
Amy:And people don't do that enough today, and I'm guilty of it too on the phone, on the computer.
Garry:We all are.
Amy:You know, my brain is working and working, working looking at stuff, looking up stuff and, um, you know, you just get addicted to it, and sometimes it is good to, I think. Man, what did I do when I was, you know, only when I was 20 and I had to go to the grocery store and I didn't have the list on my phone? I had a handwritten list, right, if I had to wait in line anywhere.
Garry:I didn't have a phone, I had to read or pick up a magazine you know, or like in the doctor's office, we didn't have video games. We had to play outside.
Amy:Well, we had video games to an extent, but not like they are today where they're accessible 24-7 in the palm of your hand literally. You know. So I just I really liked that. Monica at one point mentions the quote of her dad's where it's in stillness that we're most open to God, and that is true, but I think it's also true for everything else. It just if you're just still, you can allow thoughts to come in. Maybe you've been trying to figure out a way to do something, make more money, get a different job.
Garry:Right.
Amy:And that's when you can really just let it come in. Maybe you know so the message of we kind of talked about this trying to meet others expectations while fulfilling your own, and Luis kind of says that he's, you know, he's he's trying to meet his dad's and his son's expectations, but he might have different expectations. And that goes for Mateo. He doesn't want to play sports, so he's trying to meet his dad's expectations of him playing sports, but he really doesn't want to. His expectations are he'd like to do something different, right? So I just I like that message. And then the message of letting go, and that one is probably the hardest one for me. What about you?
Amy:Oh yeah, no, you know just you know things nag, nag, nag and then you just have to walk away. I mean I've gotten better. I've gotten a lot better at it as I've gotten older, because I've moved on from things from relationships from people from negativity, from people from negativity. If it doesn't work, it doesn't, and this sounds harsh, but if it's, you know whether it's friends or family, you just move forward.
Garry:Yeah.
Amy:And there's no ill will. It's just you're done and you need to move on, and sometimes that happens.
Garry:I agree with you.
Amy:And then did you have any more big cheers.
Garry:No, that was it.
Amy:I had a couple more.
Garry:Okay, while we're talking, bring them on While we're talking. Yeah, while we're talking.
Amy:So Monica and Louise, and that would be Aaron Cahill and Eric Valdez. I just thought their chemistry and their work in the film was just effortless.
Garry:Yes, it was.
Amy:They just flowed so easily and beautifully. I really enjoyed their chemistry and I really hope Homework swoops up Eric and uses him more.
Garry:Oh they will Because.
Amy:I think he will be great in other Homework productions Dayspring, or movies or series. I just think he would be a great addition to the Homework family. So I'm hoping, fingers crossed. And then, of course, the full circle moment of the quote the opposite of faith isn't doubt, it's certainty. Right and I really right, right, and I've never really. At first I was kind of like what?
Garry:And then you have to think about it.
Amy:And then I just thought it was cool that you know, first Monica says that her dad used to say that, right, and then Mateo says his dad says that, and then you find out that Ernesto said it to Luis, who's Mateo's dad. So it's like all this full circle moment with that particular quote. So those are my biggest cheers. Sorry, not cheers. So what about jeers? Did you have any? I sure did.
Garry:Oh boy, okay, you said that with emphatic enthusiasm. Well, because they didn't need to throw it in there, because I felt like throughout the whole journey they were all getting along. You know all the members that were on the Camino. It was when Mateo walks in on Louise and Monica when they were having a conversation about how they were happy that they went on this because they found each other.
Amy:Yes, like Monica's parents.
Garry:And then Mateo was like what, and he kind of acted like you don't love me. And then he storms off. And then Monica, when Louise comes back, monica's like I would give anything to be with my dad one more time. So I'm going to continue the journey by myself, because you need to be with your son.
Amy:Yeah.
Garry:I just felt like okay, all right. You just didn't like the I just didn't like it because I don't think they needed to do that. You wanted it to stay. Yeah, I wanted them to get there Because when she finished the way she say, I wish I would have finished it with you.
Amy:Yeah, it's like duh. You felt like that was an unnecessary scene. Well they had to have, I guess, some kind of.
Garry:No, I know.
Amy:You know some kind of issue. I guess If I had to have a jeer, that was it. Yeah, Okay, that was it.
Garry:But other than that it was it, other than that it was.
Amy:It worked. It worked for me, yeah, yeah. So what about you? Did you have a jail? I didn't have any.
Garry:I know.
Amy:I know I feel bad, I know. No, you shouldn't feel bad, I mean that's, I mean I get it because you sort of feel like the flow is good and I. I kind of viewed it. Yeah, I mean, maybe they felt Throw that in there.
Garry:Right.
Amy:You know, because you need that.
Garry:Well, it sets up the one scene where they go to Ernesto's home, right, because that's where you know Louise grew up Right, it was in that particular village, right, and Ernesto and his wife used to open their doors to the pilgrims. And he had this little thing where, when you were there, he wanted you to take a Polaroid picture. Yes, so he could keep it for memories. That was pretty cool. Yeah, that was interesting, and I didn't even see that coming. But he gave the box to Luis to go through. He said yeah, because he was talking to Mateo. He said, yeah, your dad's in here, there should be some memories of him. And Luis was going through the pictures and came across Monica's mom and dad and they were holding a baby.
Amy:And who do you?
Garry:think was the baby.
Amy:It was Luis Right, sorry.
Garry:So I thought that was how they brought that whole thing together. And then Ernesto was like I remember them. They were a great couple.
Amy:Right, right. He did remember them at that point.
Garry:So then they took off to go find her, because she had continued on without them, because she wanted to finish the Camino by themselves. Oh, I see what you're saying now.
Amy:It set the stage for that particular they needed to get him to her get them separated so they could have that scene and realize it without her being there and then go yeah yeah, but I also liked the pilgrim passport.
Garry:I thought that was pretty cool.
Amy:Yeah, that's kind of cool. Stop, you get a statement. Yeah, I think that that's kind of cool. That would make it more fun. Yeah, I think that would be cool. Yeah, so I mean, I think doing that it just um, in general, would be cool. If because you know we in what was it? 2020 it might have been. It was when you could travel again. We traveled to the mountains of virginia and remember we, um, we removed social media from our phones oh yeah and that was the best.
Garry:Thing that we ever did that we ever did yeah it really made us be in the moment.
Amy:yeah, yeah, I mean we took pictures because I'm a picture taker in general.
Garry:Well, you want to. You want to have some memories.
Amy:Yeah, so we took all kinds of pictures, we had fun, but we did not get on social media at all and didn't really miss it. No, at the time, of course once we got home we put it back on our phones. But we purposely did that to disconnect in a way. We didn't want to leave our phones, but we also didn't really get on the internet that much during that time.
Amy:We just kind of stayed secluded like the old days, throwing it way, way, way back to the nineties, right Before we had smartphones and social media and all that stuff. So, but it's kind of cool. So the message of this again, just going back to it, I just thought it was great. You was great. You know, slow down, be still. We live in a very fast-paced world, you know, even everybody's driving faster, you know, and it's just like you're constantly on the go on, the go on, the go on the go and then you don't have any downtime nope, and you miss it, yeah, yeah and you miss it and life passes you by so that was the gist of this whole movie.
Garry:Yeah, I mean, I just I really loved it.
Amy:So out of wine corks. How many corks would you?
Garry:give it. I'm giving it a five. I know I give fives out a lot, but this.
Amy:It is what it is. Yeah, I mean, it is what it is.
Garry:I'm happy with it. I'm happy with these movies. I mean it is what it is.
Amy:I'm happy with it. I'm happy with these movies. I mean, I guess the only thing I would say is they never looked like tired or dirty or you know If I had to give a jeer now that I'm thinking about it. I'm sorry I'm going back a little bit, but I was just thinking about doing a journey and I'm like you know.
Garry:I don't know.
Amy:But it's, you know, movie magic, it's fine.
Garry:Well, when they stopped at each inn, that's where they got clean.
Amy:I guess, yeah, yeah.
Garry:So anything else.
Amy:No, I think that's a wrap. Okay, well, do you want to know how?
Garry:many corks. I— oh, you know what I forgot about your corks I know you don't care about my corks. How many wine corks would you give this one? My corks are Wine corks. Would you give this one?
Amy:Drum roll. This will be surprising A five.
Garry:Joy to the world, Gosh stop.
Amy:Oh my gosh, okay Well that's good.
Garry:I'm glad you gave it a five too.
Amy:They're on a little Christmas vacation Christmas vacation. Yeah, christmas vacation yeah.
Garry:We're here, we're there. All right, is that a wrap?
Amy:So five quarks? Yep, that's a wrap.
