SPEAKER_03Now we have been we are going to be talking about the way home today. Yes. And we have been dropping some theories on social media and some videos. And we have been wrong mostly about what we've said and we've forgotten some things. I mean, it's been, I know there are some major points, but I just don't have a good memory like that for certain things. I mean, we're on the fourth season.
SPEAKER_01I don't remember the third or the second or the first.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, I remember some parts of it, but yeah. Yeah. So it's been it's been kind of interesting and people are setting us straight, which is cool. That's what we want, that's what we need.
SPEAKER_01But just don't be mad at us, okay?
SPEAKER_03We're just No, they're not mad at us. No one's been mean or anything, but it's just kind of funny. We're like, oh, we forgot about that. Okay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So no, I haven't taken it that way yet. I mean, so so if you have theories, feel free to let us know or let us know when we are definitely 100% wrong. Which I usually am anyway. So yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, you know, I I enjoy trying to figure out what's going on. So if we are wrong, set a straight in the comments down below.
SPEAKER_03Just let us know. All right. Today we're going to be reviewing episode episode um season four, episode number five
Episode Info Spoiler Warning Setup
SPEAKER_03of The Way Home. And it was titled, is titled Don't Cry Out Loud. It originally aired on the Hallmark channel on Sunday, May 17th, 2026. You can watch it right now on Hallmark Plus, and you can catch up on the way home, seasons one through three on Netflix also.
SPEAKER_01Yep. And this is the part of the podcast where if you haven't seen it yet, I would suggest stopping us.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_01Go watch it. Come back. Let us know what you think.
SPEAKER_03Let us know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Do you want to talk about who wrote and directed it?
SPEAKER_01Oh, you know what? I guess I could do that off.
SPEAKER_03Maybe.
SPEAKER_01Maybe. Let's see. This episode was written by Alexandra Clark and directed by Tom Best. There you have it.
SPEAKER_03Now I feel like we're back in place.
SPEAKER_01I skipped. Or maybe I jumped.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I see what you did there. I see what you did there.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_03All right.
SPEAKER_01Where did we leave off at?
SPEAKER_03Let me drop the synopsis first.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh. Let me jump back in this pond and I'll be right back. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Can you just go? Yeah, let's we need to jump back about this.
SPEAKER_01Pretend I'm back and I'm wiping myself off.
SPEAKER_03When Nick accompanies Kat in searching for details about Elliot's mother from the 1920s, they discover they might be out of their depth.
SPEAKER_01I get it. Like a fish out of water.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So we left off at the end of the last episode. Nick and Kat had jumped. And Nick was beside himself, excited.
SPEAKER_01Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_03Right. Which is so great. Love him. Love him in this episode too. Dell had fallen. Um, the horse had kind of bucked her off.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03And she had fallen and she was knocked out.
SPEAKER_00Yep.
SPEAKER_03And I can't, what else happened at the end of the last episode? Was there anything going on with Alice?
SPEAKER_01Um, yeah, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I can't remember. Yeah, yeah. Those were the main points, though. Dell is knocked out, and Kat and Nick have jumped. So there you go.
SPEAKER_01There you go. All right. So this particular episode starts off with a picture of Tessa holding Elliot as a young baby with a pond in the background.
SPEAKER_03Which oh, that's right. You said yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_01And we
Last Episode Fallout And Photo Clues
SPEAKER_01didn't know that until somebody had pointed that out to us.
SPEAKER_03That the pond was in the background of the picture.
SPEAKER_01Of the picture. I did not notice that. So thank you for that catch.
SPEAKER_03Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_01Yes.
SPEAKER_03Well, I thought, is that at the very beginning? And then Del's horse runs away. So what is that from? Who's holding the picture?
SPEAKER_01We don't know. That's it. Who took the picture, first of all, and who was ripped out of the picture? Right.
SPEAKER_03I know we're asking those questions, but I'm a little confused. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. But we don't know who's holding that picture.
SPEAKER_03Right. So Del's horse is running away.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_03Nick and Kat pop up in the pond, and Nick is like so excited. He's giddy, right? Oh, you know, I should say we're going to do a recap and we'll review along the way and say our theories. What we think along the way. And we try, we don't listen to other podcasts before we draw bars. And I try not to read too much online because I don't want anything to sway what we say during our podcast. It's hard to do with this one because there's a lot of chatter online, but oh, a whole bunch. All right. So anyway, so Nick pops up and he is just, he's like, it's the world's best roller coaster. He is just so thrilled to be jumping finally. Did it work? Are we where we need to be?
SPEAKER_01I know.
SPEAKER_03And Kat's like, yes.
SPEAKER_01I know. How do you respond to somebody like that that is experiencing this for the first time, right? It would be kind of crazy.
SPEAKER_03I guess you just have to remember when you did it for the first time what it was like.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Although they didn't know it was gonna happen. So well, did they? No.
SPEAKER_01No. They just fell in the water. And next thing I know, they came up and they were in a different time period.
SPEAKER_03Okay, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Scary.
SPEAKER_03Someone will set us straight about that too. So they are in 1925.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So then we and and this is another episode that goes back and forth and back and forth. So then it comes back to the present, and and Del's horse has run back to Landry Farm, and Alice sees the horse, and she knows that since the horse is by itself, that something must have happened to Del.
SPEAKER_01And yes, she does. She gets scared.
SPEAKER_03And then we go to Del and she is dreaming about Cole, that he's there. He's helping her up. He walks with her and he walks her back home.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah. I mean, ooh, the love they had, right? For her to still be dreaming about him, thinking about him all those years later. It's like I I know the bond never leaves, but man.
SPEAKER_01Which is probably the reason she can't commit to anybody else.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01But let me mention one thing real quick. When Nick and Kat came out of the pond, there is a bag of clothes for Kat. So to so Fern must have left them prior to that jump. So she's got a red jacket she's wearing now to fit the time. So yes, so Alice sees Dell come up, and she's talking to Colton at first, but she's not because it's all up in her head. Or Dell. It's in her head. But Alice sees her and takes her inside. And that that's funny because then as they're sitting at the table, Nick comes in, or not Nick. Um Nick. Who is it?
SPEAKER_03Uh Julie or um uh Sam.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Sam comes in, and then uh Julian comes in afterwards with a bottle of wine.
SPEAKER_03So right. Right. And and what's funny is you know, Dell tells Alice, you know, I I think you can leave now. I have I've got two highly attentive men to tend to me.
SPEAKER_01That's so funny. Yeah, she she was like, Did you tell the whole town?
SPEAKER_03Tell Dern Town, doesn't she say Dern, the whole Dern Town? Yeah, yeah, because Alice, of course, called for help because she didn't know right where Dell was or when it was. Yes, it was the right thing to do. But um it right before that, though, before we got to that scene where the men walk in, you know, Alice, when you know Cole is helping her up and he starts walking with her, then we see Kat and Nick, and they're also at the Landry farm, but they are in 1925. Yeah, so again, we have the parallel of the stories, right? And they want to go into the house. And Cliff is renting the house, the Landry house, in 1925, but he is not there. And Nick is just like, oh, this is fun. Do I get a costume too? Like he is just he can't wait to get in there, and she's and Kat is trying to get him to be serious, right? Because it's dangerous. Yeah, and then they get inside and Nick's like, these suspender thingies are I don't know what he says, cumbersome or or hard to figure out or something because he's putting on Cliff's clothes, right?
SPEAKER_01Which is funny, right? But they're there to look for the almanac, right? So that that was a that was a fun scene, and then that's when it goes back to Alice and and Dell and Well, not before Cliff shows up, yeah. Well, yes, Cliff shows up and he's got a conversation with them and he's like, Oh, you must shop at the I don't remember what he said, but like the local store. Yeah, because he's wearing his clothes and they look the same. And he's like, and and Nick is so good in this.
SPEAKER_03He is, he is. Well, I think they had the flask out, didn't they? Kat and Nick had the flask out, yes, and we're still in prohibition, and Cliff is kind of like again with the alcohol, again, you know, he's he's playing that. Dan Janat is playing that so well, yeah, so so well as Cliff. And you know, and then Nick, and it is kind of cute because Nick is like, Oh, that's right, it's prohibition, I can't have this, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yes, it's so it's really good.
SPEAKER_03And then we find out Nick ends up knowing a lot about that time period, right? And things that went on, and yeah, yeah, so anyhow, all right, so then back to Dell. Then we go back to the present day.
SPEAKER_01And what's going on in this scene?
SPEAKER_03You brought it up before. Del Dell is talking to the two men, and and she basically tells both of them she's gonna need some time alone.
1925 Arrival Cliff Trouble And Speakeasy Chaos
SPEAKER_03Right. And they leave and she sees Cole again in the house, you know, and and she I think doesn't she say something like this can't be real? And he says something and then he grabs her hand and she can still kind of feel it. Right. Yeah, grabbing her hand. So she's clearly, you know, maybe because she was knocked out or something, you know, seeing Cole.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, which is you know, they're starting to tie up a couple of things here. So um what are they tying up here? Well, it leads to something in the end, and we'll talk about it. Oh, okay, okay. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_03I got you. I got you. Right. So, um duh. All right. Um so then we go back to 1925, and you have Kat and Nick, and they go to the speakeasy.
SPEAKER_02Woohoo!
SPEAKER_03And Nick again he offers to stay, you know. He he he says they'll be our bodyguard, and Kat is like, you know, because Kat needs to go find fern. Right. So Nick says, I'll, you know, I'll stay here, and she tells him not to drink. So when she goes to leave, he immediately goes and grabs a drink.
SPEAKER_01Yes. And she's watching with the Augie boys.
SPEAKER_03With the Augie boys, right? Right. So then you're like, Oh, what's he gonna do? What's he gonna do? But I I always I don't I'm not suspicious of Nick at all.
SPEAKER_01No, I I don't think he's doing anything nefarious. I just think he's just having a good old time. Uh you know, I think he's an innocent um person in all of this. Now, his wife, who we I don't think we've seen yet, right?
SPEAKER_03No, Claire. We haven't seen her yet.
SPEAKER_01She may be up to something. I don't know yet. So we'll go find.
SPEAKER_03I think that's gonna be a little something something, but yeah, I think so. And Kat goes on to find Fern, you know.
SPEAKER_01Um she goes to the paper, right?
SPEAKER_03She goes to the Herald, she goes to the office, and she's looking for her, and she finds the Alice in Wonderland book. Now, it does have a note in it. And is this the page that's missing out of Alice's copies? Am I right about that or am I not?
SPEAKER_01You are 100% correct.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so and the note says to my little Fern, never forget to be curiouser and curiouser. With love, your Cheshire cat, anticoop.
SPEAKER_01And there you have it. Fern was back in those times. So that's Tessa. I mean, Tessa was back in those times. Sorry.
SPEAKER_03You said Fern. I was like, we already know Fern is back in those times.
SPEAKER_01So she was the aunt to Fern, and she must have taught her the the um Tainted Love Tainted Love song. So there you go.
SPEAKER_03So you're you're no it has to be.
SPEAKER_01There's no other way.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You were correct, right?
SPEAKER_03And we know that because Tessa's last name, her maiden last name was co it was Cooper, right? Because we saw that on the driver's license.
SPEAKER_01Yes. So that was found when um Alice was digging her time capsule agency for that.
SPEAKER_03So no, she yeah, she got the suitcase. Tessa suitcase.
SPEAKER_01So then Grayson walks in because he was in the office that Kat did not notice he was in.
SPEAKER_03Well, he owns it, right? At that time, he's the owner of the paper, right?
SPEAKER_01And he's all confused about how Fern apparently has been telling Kat all this information, but didn't say anything about Coop. So he's kind of suspicious about that. And they sit down and they have a drink and have Convo, which was pretty interesting. And Kat lets him know that he knows about Cassandra, his sister, who died at a younger age.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_01So not sure what's up with that.
SPEAKER_03Well, and then he shows Kat the movie poster of the movie that they were going to have made there, and it's Cassandra of the Lighthouse. And now we understand that that was actually his sister.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_03So we're wondering, you know, how far from truth that story is.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. Did she really die? Did she really die?
SPEAKER_03Yep, yep. And then while we're in that same scene, I know we flash forward a little bit. Alice goes to Elliot's. Um, she's upset that he didn't pick up. Of course, he's just returning from trying to get Jacob to come home.
SPEAKER_00Right, right.
SPEAKER_03Right. So, but back in 1925, between Grayson and Kat, they're having a discussion, and Kat finds out that Fern had a brother who died. So I don't know how that's gonna end up playing into everything in in the war. In the war, right? Her mom died young and then her dad died. So really Fern is by herself now, right? And and Cassandra, Grayson's sister, is the one who ended up bringing Fern around Lagomar, right? So I don't know. I think the brother is gonna somehow show up playing a role. Well, show up. He died in the war unless he went and jumped in the pond.
SPEAKER_01Well, everybody says die, but you don't know if they jumped.
SPEAKER_03Right. You know what I mean? He said maybe he will.
SPEAKER_01Who knows?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And like you said, Grayson's suspicious of Kat. He wants to know why Fern is telling her certain details. And, you know, because Kat has asked, you know, who filled in Fern's birth date. And Grayson is instantly suspicious because he's like, Fern tells you everything except about Coop, about who Coop is. I so he's he's suspicious of her, she's suspicious of him, and we don't know what's going on with Coop, what Tessa was doing, anti-Coop.
SPEAKER_01I I think she was probably trying to get close to a Landry so she could ask them to help her back.
SPEAKER_03To help her back. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's the only thing I can think of.
SPEAKER_03And you have a suspicion now of who she might have jumped with.
SPEAKER_01Although Well, there's a lot. I mean, I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01It could be Jacob, it could be Griffin, uh it could be when she jumps back or jumps jumps back to the her time.
SPEAKER_03Right, right. But you also you were saying you think it's possible, although I don't know if this could be true, that Tessa is from the future.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_03We don't know if it has jumped into the pond and then ended up in the 70s and then stayed like Elliot stayed.
SPEAKER_01Right. We don't know if But maybe not.
SPEAKER_03I don't know. That probably doesn't make sense. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Well, we don't know if that her timeline is the same as Colton and Dell's timeline when they were in high school. Because I feel like in in watching these episodes, she just kind of showed up. And kind of like Alice does, and no one knows where she's from, she's just there. So that was one of my theories.
SPEAKER_03But what if there were two different landers from two different times? Like if Kat is there with um someone from the future, and then they jump and but they end up at the same place, but then when they jump to go back to their, they would, I guess, go back to their own timelines, their own eras, right? Okay, I'm
The Herald Clues Grayson Suspicion And Auntie Coop
SPEAKER_03trying to work that out in my head.
SPEAKER_00I know it's it's it's crazy. It's crazy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And so Kat has asked Grayson, like, where is Coop? Because she's she's gone there to find Tessa, right? And when we say Coop, we mean Tessa. Right. Um and he says, you know, he doesn't know, he hasn't seen her in a while. She travels a lot. So now we know she probably, but she would have to jump with a Landry. So is she finding someone every single time to jump with? That's why I was confused when he's like, she she travels a lot, she's not always here.
SPEAKER_01Right. We don't know, unless she can jump herself. I mean, we'll find out as we get closer and closer to the last episode.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But that's when Kat leaves because Grayson gets a gets a phone call and she kind of stops outside the door and listens, and it doesn't sound very good for for Tessa and for Fern. So that was an interesting phone call.
SPEAKER_03Right. So then Kat heads back to the speakeasy, and Nick is just having a good old time and drinking and having the best time with the Augie boys, especially, and they're singing Shoby the Way to Go Home.
SPEAKER_01I know, isn't that funny?
SPEAKER_03And I thought that that was good that that song came back around, and yeah, you know, Kat is upset because she's like, What the f are you doing? you know, like you're supposed to be.
SPEAKER_01And then go ahead.
SPEAKER_03Oh, I was just gonna say, and then he's he's just like, Thank you for bringing me here. I love it here. I love 1925. And then he were you gonna say something before I go to that last no, go ahead. Pardon that scene. No, I was gonna say, and then he pulls out a flask and Kat grabs it and Cliff walks up again.
SPEAKER_01Yes. But I was gonna say prior to leaving, he fist bumps the one of the hockey brothers.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he's like, pass it along.
SPEAKER_01Pass it along the fist bump.
SPEAKER_03So it's just it's such a I really enjoyed that particular scene when they're leaving and he's all excited, but she's mad, and then you know, yeah, and and you're right, that's when they go outside and they're talking, and he he doesn't do it on purpose, but he just pulls a flask out to go. Well, he's not thinking, right? Like he forgets that you're in person.
SPEAKER_01This is his first time there, right? And uh he's not in Vegas where you could just carry it down the street and drink as you're going, right? And then all of a sudden there's Cliff again, who seems to pop out of nowhere when there's someone's about to drink some alcohol.
SPEAKER_03Some alcohol. He's the right place at the right time for Cliff, but the wrong place in the wrong time for cat, usually.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_03And then um, so Cliff arrests them. Okay, right. They get both thrown in jail. But prior to that, um, when Alice went to talk to Elliot, Elliot said he wanted to go. He wanted to jump, right? So they jump and they end up going to the to 1979.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03They've come across Evie and Tessa in the woods, and Tessa is you know in a white dress and she is running around. And we originally thought she was the white witch, but there is an OG white witch, which someone corrected us about. We had forgotten that it was cat. And so, but you're wondering, so but Tessa hasn't jumped yet, so she wouldn't have seen cat in the eighteen hundreds, right?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01No, but this the story had Fern had told the story several times. Wait, wait a minute. Yeah. Fern had been telling the story of the white witch. So I don't Know if that's how they found out the story, or if Tessa had already jumped and seen it. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03But she doesn't jump until the 80s. I thought she hadn't jumped yet, or so we think.
SPEAKER_01So we think. Right. Okay.
SPEAKER_03So we think. Okay. Yeah. All right. So um Elliot gets, of course, emotional seeing his mom, gets a little emotional seeing his mom. And it just it just reminds me so much of Peggy Sue got married, the movie. I just love there's just a scene where, and I think we've talked about this before with Nicolas Cage and Kathleen Turner, and they're at their high school reunion, she falls and bumps her head, and now she's dreaming, she's in a dream state. But she goes back in time. And when she goes home, and like I think she hears her mom, you know, her mom is at the house and she hears her mom speak and she gets kind of choked up because her mom has since passed and everything. And I just, you know, when you see Elliot looking at his mom, and we don't know what's happened to her yet.
SPEAKER_00Nope.
SPEAKER_03But um, he kind of gets teary-eyed, and I mean, it would just be if you could get a get like if I could time travel, that's what I would want to see is my parents when they were young.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_03Like as young adults, I just think that'd be so cool.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. I think so too.
SPEAKER_03You know.
SPEAKER_01But what was interesting is they were walking, it was Tessa, Evelyn, and Evelyn's son, they were walking up to get Dell to take her to uh which is which was Tessa is Tessa's house, and that's when you find out that Dell had a miscarriage.
SPEAKER_03Right. Right.
SPEAKER_01So Alice was like, I'm gonna stay here, you go with uh Tessa and them and follow them, and I'll meet up with you later.
SPEAKER_03Right, because Alice wants to kind of watch what goes on with her family and Elliot, they split up then.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03And Elliot goes to like where his mom is going, basically.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03Right, to see what goes on. And then they go back. Well, then we're back in 1925, and Kat and Nick are in jail. Nick hands Nick hands Kat a piece of paper and she's like, What's this? And he's like, It's the direction to the Auggy Boys hideout. And he's basically like, You didn't think I was just doing all that for fun, did you? And here he is. You know, he took his job seriously.
SPEAKER_01He did.
SPEAKER_03He fit in, he got some information. He's like a CI, right? He got the T. Yeah, he got the T.
SPEAKER_01He got the T and the T bag.
SPEAKER_03How about that? But it's cute because you know, and then out and then Kat is like, I definitely did. Like, I thought that's totally what you were doing, was just having a good time. Right. So they both think that Fern is at the hideout because of Grayson, because Grayson has alluded to we need to get her and take care of her and you know, whatever.
SPEAKER_01Which which is another interesting piece. Man, yeah, but this is when Cliff walks up.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_01And he's he Cliff is funny because he kind of put them in jail because he wanted Fern to come and, you know, kind of bail them out. So I think he's got something for Fern.
SPEAKER_03For Fern. Well, yeah. Yeah, we definitely think that, right?
SPEAKER_01We think they and then that's when Kat tells him that Fern's in trouble. And you know, they kind of go back and forth. And Cliff is like, okay, I'll let you out if you go find them, and but you need to be careful. And this is when he tells Nick that he knows that he's wearing his clothes.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_01This is that was so funny. And he was like, he he turned to Kat and said, You know, you really got a drinking problem.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's kind of cute. It's very well done. It's very, very well done. It was and you know, when Kat says Fern might be in trouble, and Cliff immediately says, What did Grayson do? Yeah, tells Kat that she is on to something with Grayson.
SPEAKER_01Yep. That he's not the guy that, you know, yeah, but Cliff is just not there for the for the alcohol. He's there because something's going down.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So yeah. And then it cuts
1979 Jump Miscarriage Reveal And Tarot Cards
SPEAKER_01back to um now we're at Tessa's house, and Tessa and uh Evelyn are on a blanket outside in the yard, and Evelyn wants to read her future. Um, or no, I'm sorry, Tessa wants to read her palms, but then Evelyn goes, Well, let me do your tarot cards first. And then that's when we find out that what were the cards?
SPEAKER_03One was one was so Elliot is watching this scene, and one card is Knight of the Knight of Cups card, which means someone tall is gonna show up for her. And doesn't she say Victor isn't that tall or something? I don't know. And then the other card is the Empress, and that's a fertility card, and then they proceed to have a conversation about you know, having babies, and Tessa isn't sure if she wants to be a mom, and Evie's like, Evie basically gives her a pep talk about it. It's like it's the greatest gift, and then Tessa's like, Well, you know, you make it sound so great. Uh, maybe I do want to be a mom, or you know, something to that effect. So they have this moment and Elliot, because at first when Tessa's like, I don't want to, you know, I don't think I want to be a mom, he's kind of like crushed a little bit. And then when she comes around, his face softens, and you know, he's really acting through his facial expressions during that scene. It's really, really good. Yeah, really well taken.
SPEAKER_01He did a really good job on that.
SPEAKER_03And then we jump back to the present, and Dell and Julian are at the at the kitchen table because that's where everyone has serious conversations. I mean, and I mean that, you know, the kitchen is where it's at, it's where everybody gathers, right? And you know, they both admit that they have butterflies around each other, but but Del is like, you know, I have to go check on my horse lightning.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03Right, and then Lightning. Right. And we're like, what? Because I think she says Stormy like 10 times before that point to get it across for so people are paying attention. I think it's just what I said. Del says stormy stormy came running to Alice, you know, it's just but um, you know, so Dell goes to the stable and that's where she sees Cole, and then Jacob shows up, and she's just like back in her blissful time of being married, and Jacob was there, and she doesn't want to leave.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That particular period, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and that's when um baby or little Jacob shows up and they play tag and they start, they they run out of the stables.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, that's what I meant. Jacob shows up as a young, young boy, and she's back in that time. Yeah, yeah. But then then you have Alice um back in 1979, and she's listening to Cole and Del, and Del is upset about the miscarriage. They have a very emotional conversation. Alice gets upset because she's hurting for her grandma because she had no idea, you know, about the history. And then it comes back to present day, and Sam goes to the house, and Julian is still there, and he's like, Where's Del? And Julian's like, Well, Del went to get lightning. And Sam, of course, says, Lightning, that's not her horse, you know. That's her horse. Was that Colton's whole horse or something?
SPEAKER_01You know, and she's like, Yeah, and she goes, he goes barreling out the door to go save Del.
SPEAKER_03Right, right. And then, of course, Del is thinking that Cole is calling her, so she's walking through the cornfield and then she ends up passing out, and she hears Jacob running around and Cole is there. It's it was pretty well shot. Yeah, it was, and what that whole scene was really well done, I thought. And then Sam finds her and carries her home and picks her up, puts her in bed, tells her she has a concussion. Yeah, dun dun dun.
SPEAKER_01And then we go back to what is it, 79? And uh Evelyn goes back in the house, and when she does, Tessa takes the two cards, the Knight of the Cup Cups and the Fertiler Fertility one. Right? I think so. Yes, but Elliot kind of looks like in the world, what's going on? But then she goes in, and this is probably my favorite scene when Victor pulls up and he's like, Hey, you, Mr. Peepin' Tom, what are you doing in my yard? And they just had the most like heartfelt conversation. And I think at that point, Elliot has a totally different look on his dad, you know, understanding of his well, because Victor is like all excited about his life ahead.
SPEAKER_03He can't wait to have kids. He hopes he has a son that he can go fishing with and teach things to and teach them hockey, and he and then he's like Tessa's gonna do all the smart stuff, right? She then does the math and all the brain stuff, yeah, poetry and math. And Elliot's just like that's why I say if you could see your parents and like their expectations, and then you know, of course, their life didn't turn out that way, right? Because Tessa ends up disappearing, but um, it's just really you're right, it gives Elliot a new perspective about his dad. It sort of doesn't excuse the way his dad was when he was growing up, but he has a better understanding now, and you know, life happens. Yeah, like you have all these dreams and expectations and crappy things happen.
SPEAKER_01So let me know. So let me ask you this on a sidebar real quick. So you remember uh Nick and Alice were kind of liked each other when they were when Alice jumped back to the teenage times of Colin. And then back in the in the present time, when Nick came to see Elliot as an older adult, he didn't recognize her right away, but I don't remember what was said or happened to that made Nick then realize, oh my god, this is Alice. What I don't remember. So I'm wondering now that Elliot had this scene with Victor, would Victor now recognize Elliot when he sees him the next time?
SPEAKER_03I think that your memory is a funny thing. And I think that for Victor, you know, when they had their baby, when he had the baby with Tess Tessa, you know, you watch the baby grow up and you might there might be some deja vu, but I don't think he would have a direct visual memory of the kid that was in the yard. Because over time memories fade, they change. Right. You know, you may think the shirt was blue when it was yellow, you know. I mean, there's all so I I don't think, and even if even if he thought Elliot turned out to be a dead ringer for the kid he saw in the yard, he would never think they were the same person.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03Unless he time traveled and knew. But, you know, but you would never, it's just like I don't, I don't think that it's unreasonable to believe that Nick didn't recognize Alice. He might have had a sense of, and I honestly don't remember the first time he saw her, you know, I don't really recollect that in the past seasons um or how he ended up finding out. I mean, we could go back and look, but um, I just I there might be a moment of gosh, you look familiar.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_03You know, like I I just I I don't know. I don't think it's unreasonable to think they wouldn't recognize them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I just wanted to put it out there.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, just my opinion. I know because you're like, I can't believe Nick, when we were watching it, you're like, how does he not know her? I'm like, well, it's been like, you know, 30 years or whatever.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Well, then the next scene.
SPEAKER_03Well, and plus when you see her in the present day, even if you thought you remembered her, she looked like why would she look the exact same today? She wouldn't have aged, you know.
SPEAKER_01Well, you know, Nick Nick recognized Alice, so I don't know. I was just going along the story.
SPEAKER_03Nick recognized Alice.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I thought you just said you didn't know if he did.
SPEAKER_01No, he did.
SPEAKER_03When he first saw her?
SPEAKER_01Not when he first saw her. I don't know what triggered it. That's what I was saying.
SPEAKER_03Okay, okay.
SPEAKER_01Would there be a moment where something triggers the memory? I don't know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, maybe. Well, yeah, I guess there could be. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Moving on.
SPEAKER_03I'd have to revisit that episode.
SPEAKER_01So the next scene is Kat and Nick walking through the forest and they're having that banter back and forth and discussing like how Nick has been very helpful, and Kat is like, Really? I don't think so. And he like points and he's like, see, we found a hideout, right?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01The the Auggy boy hideout.
SPEAKER_03So aren't you glad I'm
Jail Deal Augie Boys Chase To The Pond
SPEAKER_03helping? Or something, aren't you glad you brought me along? I'm helping. He's so excited. Because he's a seaman too, right? So he's he knows the talk.
SPEAKER_01He knows the talk, yep. And then we cut back to Dell, you know, yeah, sitting on the porch swinging with Jacob, baby Jacob, or little Jacob, sorry. And of course, she's having the dream again. And Alice is trying to wake her up. Cole is there too. She, yeah, and Cole's there too. And he wakes her up and tells her she didn't have to. This is when Alice tells Dell that she had jumped back to the time when she found out she had to miscarriage. And she told Del, You didn't have to, you know, fight this alone. You don't have to be brave all the time. And that was a very heartfelt moment, too.
SPEAKER_03I thought. Oh, okay, right, right, right. That's right. Because Del says, Oh, you know, like she Yeah, like, where have you been?
SPEAKER_01And she said, I jumped. And she said, Where'd you jump? And she told her. That's right.
SPEAKER_03That's right. And then Del uh Alice leaves Del's room then and calls Jacob.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_03And she's crying, and she's so good at Sadie. What is her name? Sadie Laflame Snow, I think.
SPEAKER_01I got goosebumps on here.
SPEAKER_03And she I know, and she's calling because you know her mom isn't there. Her mom has jumped, and um Ellie's not there because he has jumped. Or no, I guess he, you know, he's in 1979. Or no. Did you see?
SPEAKER_01Wait a minute. I think he's at his house. Right. Because they came back.
SPEAKER_03They came back. Right, right. But she's she's just crying and she's like, I'm all alone, I don't know what to do. And that's a lot. It's very heavy for a teenager. Yeah. You know, it'd be heavy for an adult, but it's a lot. She doesn't know what to do. She doesn't know if you know if Dell's possibly gonna die, you know, because she keeps passing out. And it's just that she's so so good in that scene, I thought. And then we go back to the Auggy Boys. Um and what Kat and uh and Nick, or they're they're listening to them talk.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_03The Augie Boys talk. Like, and they're talking about Fern. How long do you think they're gonna send her away for? And if Coop comes back, they'll have they'll they'll be hell to pay if Coop actually comes back. So now we don't know what Tessa has done to the Augie Boys, right? Right, or what she has done in general.
SPEAKER_01Double crusting.
SPEAKER_03I think she probably did, yeah. Yeah, I think she's probably on to them, and then and then Nick sneezes, and then they're found out that they're hiding, right? So they they see him and they they end up seeing Kat and they're like you. It's another you moment. So, and then I think uh they stand up and that's when Kat's like, run.
SPEAKER_02Run.
SPEAKER_03So then they head towards right, and then they end up at Landry Farm, they finally find Fern. She's outside the farm, and Fern is like, I'm as fit as a fiddle, you know, because Kat they didn't know where she was, they thought she was in trouble. And then um, and then I love it when when Fern says, Who's this hunk of butter about Nick? Did you hear that? It was so funny. And Nick's kind of like, huh, you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he's like, Look at me. I mean, I got it in the 20s, too.
SPEAKER_03And then of course Kat is very upset because now she knows that Fern knows who Auntie Coop really is, and that it probably was Tessa, and why didn't she tell her sooner? Right, you know, and then Fern says Coop always told us someone might come looking for her at the farm one day.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_03And every time she'd visit, she'd ask if it happened yet and had the fur person finally come. And that's when Kat's really angry because she's like, You could have told me sooner.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03And I thought it was interesting because Fern's like, you know, only films are in black and white, kitty cat. You know, life is much more complicated and complex than that. Yeah, does it be good? Yeah, yeah. And Kat wants to know where she is, where Coop, where Tessa is, and is she coming back? And that's when the Augie boys show up, and Fern tells them to run, of course, and they are running towards the pond, and Nick is slower than Kat, and he gets caught and he's getting beat up, and then the other Augie boy holds Kat under the water, and Fern shows up, and then Nick ends up getting away from them and jumping in the water.
SPEAKER_01No, they push him in the water, or they oh no, that's right.
SPEAKER_03They pushed him in the water.
SPEAKER_01They think they're gonna drown them. Right. Push him in the water.
SPEAKER_03Right. And by that time, the vines have already started to wrap around Kat, and you're not sure if Nick is gonna stay. Oh get caught there, but he ends up grabbing Kat's hand and they get pulled away.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Which, by the way, I think those shots, I think I heard um Kyler Lee say those are pool days. It's in there, I think maybe the director's backyard pool.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03And they set it all up. It's really, I mean, that would be an elaborate, very cool setup. The way they do it, and the way they tug them underneath the water is cool. To look like they're being pulled away. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Right. It was just, it was a good scene. Because I I thought for sure he was gonna get left behind.
SPEAKER_03I I wasn't, I actually wasn't sure in that. I was like, I was kind of 50-50. And I and I kind of like never know.
SPEAKER_01And I kind of like the look on uh Fern's face when the Augie boys are like, Do you think DePond you know took him or something like that? And she goes, Yeah, the Pond took him, and she had a smirk on her face, like, ha ha, if you only knew.
unknownYeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So then we go back to where Alice is trying to wake up Dell again because she's having a dream about Cole and Jacob. And this is what I was talking about is Cole was actually trying to tell her it's okay, you can leave us here now. You know, go back to go back. Go back. And she's like, I don't want to. I want to be here with you, I want to be here with Jacob. And he's like, You are with Jacob, and she's like, What?
SPEAKER_03And then that's when Jacob comes in, and he Well, Cole says, Don't be sad for what you lost, be grateful for what remains.
SPEAKER_01Right. Yeah, and that and that's when Jacob comes and he's able to wake her up and all is well.
SPEAKER_03Well, and Jacob is there, right? Jacob's home, and he basically says he was already on his way home when he got just landed when he got Alice's call.
SPEAKER_01That's that's how he was because when he first showed up, I'm like, no, come on, she just called him. How in the world did he get there so fast? But he had he had already landed.
SPEAKER_03The writing was good, they explained it. Yeah, and then and then Kat shows up, she's back, and then of course Dell has a talk with Julian, and she tells him she can't go with him because he has invited her to go wherever to some festival or wherever he's gonna be. And you know, she's just sort of stuck in that plate, not stuck necessarily, but I don't know. I don't know. Yeah, she feels like she can't leave and she's still I don't want to say
Del Concussion Family Reset Theories And Ratings
SPEAKER_03hung up on Cole, but it's like the true love of her life. You know, she some people just never really get it.
SPEAKER_01She loves she loves her home, she loves the arm. She loves now that Jacob's back even more. So yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and then she says dreams are delicious. She says that to Julian, you know, about dreaming. I thought that was good too, because they really are.
SPEAKER_01And then well, Julian took it good. I mean, I I thought you couldn't, you know, taken it any better than that. So yeah.
SPEAKER_03And then Nick says to Kat that he closed on his first house and he's gonna be back with Claire, and then they'll be moving there in like a month or something.
SPEAKER_01So we get to see who Claire is.
SPEAKER_03Right. And then Elliot, Jacob, Kat, and Dell are talking in the kitchen. Kat tells Elliot that they need to keep jumping because she believes they're gonna find Tessa. Yep. And he's like, no, no more jumps right now. You stay with your family, you know, your brother and your mom need you. And then he leaves and he's all like mischievous. He grabs the keys on her purpose. Uh and then he goes to the newspaper office and he is looking at old clips in the Herald newspaper. Yeah, trying to find her, trying to find his mom and more information, I would presume maybe about Grayson and that. So it was a jam-packed episode, that's for sure. No. Do you have any other theories? I mean, I don't we kind of speculated that Casey she hasn't been in this season yet.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_03I don't think, but that she might be Alice's daughter, she's from the future and come back, but um someone told us online that that's not the case, that the writers have confirmed it's not Alice's daughter.
SPEAKER_01See, I wish it would have been written that way. That would have been so cool.
SPEAKER_03I know it would have been cool. You just wanted your theory to be right.
SPEAKER_01That's all that's but then who is she?
SPEAKER_03So well, some people are saying maybe I I mean I don't know, Jacob's daughter, a granddaughter? I I have no idea. Yeah. I'm not even gonna guess because Yeah, it's too hard.
SPEAKER_01She'd have to be way in the future.
SPEAKER_03So I mean we have some, you know, I I don't like I wish Elliot hadn't the only thing I didn't like was that um, you know, Elliot really was kind of I don't know, looking angry in the end or like real, you know, he was supposed to be determined but more angry. And I'm like, I would just be like, no, you're fine, and then just go and do it, you know, like have a different like I'm gonna investigate this. But so I guess, you know, we're gonna find out. I'm I'm curious to know where Tessa is, who Tessa is, you know, if the lady in the bar ends up being um Jacob's love interest.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm. And you know who who Casey is and who were the people that survived the tunnel blast and who was the one that supposedly didn't.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And what happens with the Augie boys? You know, we end up knowing that Victor ends up being a descendant of them because he's Victor Augustine, so and Elliot.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So it's gonna be interesting to see where it goes. Where it goes. Nobody knows.
SPEAKER_01Nobody knows. So what do you think?
SPEAKER_03Out of five jumps, how many would you give this episode?
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna give this one a five only because it was jam-packed with some stuff.
SPEAKER_03It was jam-packed. It really was. I'm gonna give it a four and a half. I mean, I enjoyed it. Oh it was jam-packed. I'm trying to keep my brain straight, you know. All right.
