And you can see it right now on Hallmark Plus. You can also catch up on all of the seasons, or the first three seasons, excuse me, on Netflix.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, you can. Binge it. It's fun.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

So this episode was written by Heather Conkey and directed by Grant Harvey. So let's drop the synopsis.

SPEAKER_03

Elliot grows obsessed with revealing more of his mother's hidden past and enlists Kat's assistance while Jacob readjusts to life in Port Haven.

SPEAKER_00

Man, does he?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, it does.

SPEAKER_00

Well, this is the part of the podcast where we tell you we'll probably drop some spoilers. So if you haven't seen this episode yet, we suggest you stop our podcast right now. Go watch it. Come back and let us know what you think, or listen to our podcast and then go watch the uh TV episode and tell us what you think.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

There you go.

SPEAKER_03

All right. So uh in the last episode, where did we leave off?

SPEAKER_00

Ooh, we left off. We have Elliot. Elliot Elliot. What are you doing, sir?

SPEAKER_03

Elliot is in the newspaper. He's stolen the key from Kat. And he's in the newspaper office looking very sinister. Yeah. Looking through, he's he's combing through the papers, looking for information, hopefully about his mom.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Right. That's where we lived. And Jacob has returned home. Del is awake from her fall. So she's happy that Jacob's back. Right. That's pretty much, yeah. I think that's pretty much where we were. Alice, you know, had returned from 1979 with the um sad news about what Del and Colton went through.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

So she's still living with that. So that's kind of where we are.

SPEAKER_00

All right.

Jacob’s Apology And Letter Suspicions

SPEAKER_03

When we start.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So we opened up Jacob is brushing Stormy, saddling him up so he can take him for a morning stroll or ride in this in this case. Right. Right. And he kind of goes over to he gallops over to um Danny Sawyer's place. And he was the young kid back in the first uh season that was with Jacob when Jacob disappeared. Yeah. So Jacob goes there just to kind of say, I'm sorry, are we cool, dude? Right.

SPEAKER_03

Well, that was because he didn't he steal the key from Danny and he was gonna burn down right Danny. At the farm. At the farm.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, he was gonna do that. And Danny's kind of like, oh yeah, let's just leave it all in the past. And I just have a feeling that Danny might be the one that uh, you know, left those letters. What do you think?

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. You think he's the one sending the letters to Dell?

SPEAKER_00

I think he is.

SPEAKER_03

Or to the house. I don't know. I can't remember exactly who they're addressing. To the house, yes. Yeah. The the it could be, could be maybe he's not over it.

SPEAKER_00

No, he might not be.

SPEAKER_03

Danny said it's fine when in fact it's not fine. I mean, I guess. I guess because we don't really know who sent the letters yet. Yeah, we don't really gone back to that. So that's a good point. Could be.

SPEAKER_00

All right. Well, you heard it here.

SPEAKER_03

We heard it here. It could be, it could be. And I want to say in this episode, we got a lot of the present day.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we did.

SPEAKER_03

We did have some time jumping, but there was a lot of goings-ons in the present day.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, which is good. I'm glad they did.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. I'm glad they did. So then we have Elliot, he is still at the newspaper. I guess it's the next morning. He's been there overnight and he's looking through the old papers and he's taking notes. And then you have Kat and Alice talking because they're getting her ready to go to college, and her room is just flooded with stuff, you know. So if you've ever gone to college or have a kid that's gone, you know, everything is everywhere temporarily while you're getting things ready. And Kat is talking about driving Alice to college. And then it kind of goes back to Elliot, and you know, he's he's looking at one of the newspapers and his eyes get really wide. Oh and it kind of reminded me of like the you know, the black, the old black and whites were like the shocked face and the camera would zoom in. That's what I'm saying.

SPEAKER_00

On the eyes.

SPEAKER_03

So Elliot has found something in the newspaper, but we don't know what at that moment. Right.

SPEAKER_00

And then we head on over to Del's house where the family's eating, and and Elliot's there too, but he ends up calling in a night again. Um and then Alice

Elliot’s Newspaper Obsession

SPEAKER_00

kind of leaves to go go pack, and then Jacob, he was gone all morning, and and Del was kind of upset because I guess she's got that PT her um that PTSD. PTSD, yeah, with Jacob. So she's kind of mad at him a little bit.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, and he keeps saying, if I stay, or as long as I'm here, I'll help. Right. So he's kind of saying things that, you know, so she's trying, I think, to put up a wall, you know. If he leaves again, she's preparing herself for the fact that he is going to be leaving again. Yeah. So and she's not happy about it. Yeah. She's not handling it well.

SPEAKER_00

Well, you know, she's already lost. So yeah. So she's hurting. And then we we the next scene is Dell. She's talking to Alice in her room about, you know, being scared because Alice kind of has doubts about going. Well, I wouldn't want to go either, man. If I if we had a pond that you can jump in and travel back to the past, that'd be fun.

SPEAKER_03

Right, right.

SPEAKER_00

Going to college ain't gonna change that, you know.

SPEAKER_03

Well, you know what's interesting about that scene too is you know, Alice asked Del about what happened in 1979, and they have this conversation, and like you said, Dell says she's really gonna miss her. And you know, they're both kind of tearing up, and I kept thinking, I wonder I wonder at what point of the filming, and we've talked about this before, did they find out they weren't gonna be coming back? I would imagine by this point. Yeah, it will be more than halfway through, and so those tears, I would imagine there's some crossover of real life, you know, right versus the acting, where it would be sad, you know, because these uh cast members and crew get so close when they film these TV series for the most part. I know there are some exceptions, but um, and so knowing that it might that it was coming to an end had to be heavy and helped them during those kind of scenes, I would think. I would think those were real tears.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, if any of you ponders know, let us know in the comments down below what what when they found out that they were this was the last season.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So then we have the whole Stormy and Dell of it all, which this isn't my favorite storyline. I mean, I get it, but this is sort of my least favorite part of the episode. So Dell is trying to regain Stormy's trust because she, you know, wanted to take Stormy where Stormy didn't want to go.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. I don't blame Story at the end of the day.

SPEAKER_03

And that's when Stormy ended up a little scares in the woods by the ponds, a little scary.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Um, and you know, animals have that sixth sense. So uh she's trying to get closer to Stormy, but Stormy really isn't having it.

SPEAKER_00

Nope.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Stormy's like, not today, Dale, not today.

SPEAKER_03

Right, right. And he kind of is that when he charges at her a little bit, yeah, and then runs past her.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. So yeah, and then then we cut over to Coyle's where Alice is working and Jacob's there and they're talking. And that's when Max walks in um to get Alice, because he had texted her earlier that he had an excellent idea for them to do before they go off to college, and that was a scavenger hunt. So that's what they were doing.

SPEAKER_03

I actually thought that was a cute idea. That is a cute idea. I like that idea. So Max

Del’s Stormy Struggle And Fear

SPEAKER_03

had so she had to make up some clues, right? And some and he did the same thing, and I thought that was really cute and really fun. That that's actually kind of a good idea, I think, for kids who are going away to college, or you know, if somebody's moving away. I was like, that's kind of cool.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it was. It was really cool. Yeah, and then that's when Jacob sees Casey peeking in the window. That's when Jacob doesn't Jacob sees Oh, Jacob leaves. Right.

SPEAKER_03

I'm confused a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

No, Jacob sees uh Casey looking in the window while all three of them are talking. Alice.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I guess I missed that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I missed that scene. Oh my goodness, you missed that. Oh my goodness, I missed that. Yes, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Usually I'm the one missing scenes. What's that?

SPEAKER_03

No, no, that's good. Okay, so Casey was looking into coils.

SPEAKER_00

Right. While while Alice and Max were talking, Jacob kind of looked toward the uh the door of the coils and saw Casey peering in, and she took off running. And then the next yeah, that's why you see Jacob on the next scene kind of walking and um out. I don't know what that area is called, but um he ran out by the water. Not the water, I don't know what it is, it's park, the waterfront area, yeah. Right, and when he runs into Abby, good wind.

SPEAKER_03

So that's who he was looking for.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Well, he was looking for Alice, but ran in or Casey. I mean Casey, but ran into Abby.

SPEAKER_03

I totally didn't know why. I thought he just went for a walk. Oh my gosh, I'm so dumb. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's okay.

SPEAKER_03

That's I must have been, I don't know, distracted, drinking wine, ticking my nose. Well, we watch it twice. So okay. You missed it twice.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_03

This is why I'm not good at these things, people. This is why I'm not good. Okay, right. So Jacob left the diner to go find uh well, who is Casey. To go find Casey. Okay, so and then he goes to the park that's by the water, right?

SPEAKER_00

And waterfront runs into Abby, and he runs into Abby.

SPEAKER_03

And so the girl at the bar. Now we have found the girl at the bar. She is in Port Haven. And they're both like, What are you doing here? My family lives here. What are you doing here? My family lives here.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yep. Old school. He's like, Do you remember me? And she's like, Old school.

SPEAKER_03

Old school. Yeah. Yeah. So we don't know who she is yet. We just now know she's from Port Haven.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Yep. Yep.

SPEAKER_03

And is that when they go back to Coils?

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Did I miss anything in between that time?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because he wants to get her some coffee.

SPEAKER_03

Right. So they head back.

SPEAKER_00

But Alice and Max are they they're beginning their scavenger hunt. So the first clue was at Coils, which was one of the tables.

SPEAKER_03

Right, right. So they're still at Coils.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

When Jacob and Abby walk into Coils.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_00

And she kind of Abby hugs Max because you don't know that they're actually brother and sister.

SPEAKER_03

Brother and sister. So Abby is a good one.

SPEAKER_00

Is a good one.

SPEAKER_03

Abby's a good one.

SPEAKER_00

And then that's when Abby finds out that Jacob and Alice are Landry's.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And she was not happy

Alice And Max’s Scavenger Hunt

SPEAKER_03

about it.

SPEAKER_00

Nope. Oh my goodness. What do you do?

SPEAKER_03

Well, it's like um, you know, the Romeo and Juliet of it all. The what is it, the Montague's and the Capulets? Yeah. The families that are like enemies. Enemies. Yeah, yeah. So womp womp. She's a good one. He's a Landry. Yeah. And I think doesn't she say something like you're the one or something? You.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

We have another one of those moments when they kind of each realize who the other is, and maybe it's not such a good idea that they be together, according to them.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

In that moment.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. So then we move on over. Elliot is reading the papers at his house.

SPEAKER_03

At his house, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

That he took home or made copies of. And uh that's when Kat walks in. And you know, she's kind of talking to him about moving in, and she's like, Well, you're so clean. And then that's when she reaches behind a pillow and finds the newspaper, and she's like, What in the world? And I love how Elliot, he kind of, you know, he made up a story. He's like, Well, well, you know, he lies. You were busy. Yeah, he lied. He lied.

SPEAKER_03

He lied about how he got in.

SPEAKER_00

Yep, and how he got the paper.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Because she says when she walks in, she's like, I don't have my keys. You know, to his house. She couldn't open the door because she doesn't have her keys.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And then he lays one on her, like to distract her, right?

SPEAKER_03

Right, right. So then he, like you said, he um, you know, he tells her he, I mean, he has to fess up because he's right now he's stolen the papers. He not only lied, but he has stolen the papers from the office. And then she sees the advertisement for a fortune teller.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

And that was what she saw in 1925, right? When she was with Grayson. So then she, I don't know if she realizes or they both realize that Tessa is the fortune teller and was at the circus that Kat was at when she was there in 1925, but she did not find her. Right. So now, of course, they have to jump.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

They have to go find his mama in 1925.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

And then we kind of that so we have that scene, we know where that's headed. And then Max and Alice are still doing the treasure hunt, and now they are by the water.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Where Jacob was earlier, where he saw Abby. And it I thought that was really cute. So he's put a plaque on an outdoor chess game.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, table. Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Or t table. Yeah. Not game, but table, which I thought was kind of cool.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I mean, it was really cool.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Cause he what always beat her in chess but one time. So it's a little plaque.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

She's like kind of memorializing that.

SPEAKER_00

Which is cute. That was a that was a cute scene.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then we go back to Dell trying to join up with Stormy again. I guess that's what they call it when they swing the rope and the horse.

SPEAKER_03

What do they call it?

SPEAKER_00

Joining up is what they call it.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I didn't know that. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I think this is when Stormy charges down charges towards her, right?

SPEAKER_03

Not at the beginning. Right. Right. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And then, you know, Jacob kind of sees it. And when Dell goes into the house and Jacob's there, uh, he's he's kind of like, Well, you want me to help with with Stormy? And she got upset, man. She kind of overreacts. And she's like, with what he gets, you know, she doesn't want Stormy, I to I guess to join up with Jacob because under her breath, she kind of says, I don't need him to leave me too. Something like that.

SPEAKER_03

And I was like, Oh, well, I think she's she doesn't want yeah, she doesn't want Stormy to start to trust um Jacob. Jacob because he's leaving.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

You know, so and she's still in her feels about Jacob possibly leaving. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

She's in her feels. Yes, she is. Boy, is she in her feels?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, she's a little snarky to Jacob. Jacob's like, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Poor Jacob, man. He comes home because she wants him, and then he gets there and she's mad at him.

SPEAKER_03

So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. And then we go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no. I was just gonna say then we have Max and Alice are in the barn loft, the treasure hunt.

SPEAKER_00

So they solved another clue. Yes. Yes.

SPEAKER_03

And then we go back to 1925.

Casey’s Advice And Future Questions

SPEAKER_03

Briefly. Briefly.

SPEAKER_00

And Kate Kat kind of has a deja vu. Uh who wouldn't, right?

SPEAKER_03

Right. They're they're at the circus and they are looking for the fortune teller's tent.

SPEAKER_00

Which is blue with stars.

SPEAKER_03

And then all the tents are blue with stars stars. And then we kind of get thrown back to the present day. And Alice, as she and Max are getting ready to leave, she sees she sees Casey now.

SPEAKER_00

Right. In the side view mirror.

SPEAKER_03

In the side view mirror in the in the barn door. And she goes in and she asks Casey why they're there.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

And I'm trying to use someone corrected us that Casey uses they and them.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_03

If we didn't do that earlier, I apologize. We just, you know, I'm trying not to.

SPEAKER_00

It's kind of hard. Make that mistake. Right, right, right. I'm trying to say they and them.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So they say, you know, because because the pawn takes me where I need to go. You know, and the way they say it is kind of funny. You know, it's like, duh.

SPEAKER_00

And she's like, but I don't know why I'm here.

SPEAKER_03

They are like, I don't know why I'm here.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Right. Right. So then Alice, you know, kind of wants to know what happens. Alice is really, really pushing Casey. Tell me what happens. Do Max and I end up together? I know you can't tell me, but tell me. You know, Alice is really just. And Casey basically tells Alice to follow her gut and she can't go wrong.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

And, you know, they make Alice promise that that's what she, meaning Alice is gonna do. She's gonna follow her gut.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

So, and then Casey's like, Well, my job here is done. Now I get to go.

SPEAKER_00

She's like and now they she's like, I'll try to pond again.

SPEAKER_03

Yep. It was that was kind of a cute scene.

SPEAKER_00

That was a kind of cute shit.

SPEAKER_03

You know, and Alice is I would be too, because you know you're not supposed to know your future.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

But gosh, wouldn't you be curious?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I would be.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I'd be curious.

SPEAKER_00

As long as you didn't tell me I was gonna die some horrible death.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, I don't want to know the bad stuff. I only want to know the good stuff, but it would be yeah, it would blow my mind a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

And then that's when we go back to 1925

Back To 1925 Searching The Circus

SPEAKER_00

and Kat and Elliot come across what's it gonna her name? Futura? Futura or something like that. Fortuna. Fortuna.

SPEAKER_03

Fortuna.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um, they see a sign outside one of the blue tents with white stars, and I thought this was funny, is when they opened the the flap to it, it was this you know, tall, ball-headed guy with dumbbells that said 250 pounds.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Now that was straight out of like very uh not it kind of reminded me of Houdini type stuff back in the day when Houdini.

SPEAKER_03

It was very sort of tongue-in-cheek and a little cheesy, and yeah, but it was kind of funny. You know, for the moment it was kind of funny, yeah. And then that's when Kat sees the Augie brothers and they're talking to Grayson. Right. And this is, you know, Elliot gets his first glimpse of Grayson and the Augie brothers, and he's like, You never mentioned their names before. And Kat is kind of like, yeah, so I know she like moved on. But my thought was, did Kat put together that they were sh she put together that they were related to Elliot, right?

SPEAKER_00

I think so, because his last name was uh they're Augustine.

SPEAKER_03

Or maybe she's just so used to jumping and seeing her relatives, it's no big deal to her. So she's like, Yeah, and right like, duh, there's your not realizing great grandfather, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Elliot's like second or third jump. So he's not used to it yet.

SPEAKER_03

So he's not as accustomed to seeing his family members in the past.

SPEAKER_00

So and they decide to follow the Augie boys.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, they do.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And then then that's when little Red Riding Hood comes walking by and Kat is distracted and goes after this person in a red coat uh cloak. And then Elliot goes off on his own and come to find out the lady is not Tessa, it's a snake holding lady. I don't know what you call it.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's right. I was trying to follow. I'm like, wait, wait, wait. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But that's also kind of when Kat is like she goes off after she says we need to stick together.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Doesn't she say we need to stick together and we need to stick together stick with me, baby? And she's like, what is it with you guys in the 20s when they're a gangster? Which was kind of funny.

SPEAKER_00

They had some really good one-liners in this scene.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah, in this scene. So right, right. And then um, so right, so she's gone off. Then Elliot actually runs into the Auggy Boys because they know they're being followed. Right. Because they're troublemakers and they're looking for that kind of stuff, you know. And then Elliot ends up having to fight them, and he has to fight his great-grandfather. And I thought that was kind of funny too.

SPEAKER_00

That was hilarious. You're like, I could just hear it. Come on, grandpa. Show me what you got, grandpa.

SPEAKER_03

Well, then he's like, sorry, doesn't he? Like then he has to punch him, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Yeah, he knocks them out.

SPEAKER_03

Then they go and they end up finding Fern and Kat says they're there for Tessa. And Fern again says, You don't know everything, kitty cat. You know, like slow your roll.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Go back to Boardhaven in present day because, you know, and and then Kat is trying to tell Fern that Tessa's life is in danger.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_03

But I mean, wouldn't you think the people that are living that moment kind of maybe know what's going on? Especially Fern. You would think she's smart as a whip.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, Fern is the smart one in this one. Right. I can't wait to find out how how her character ends, where her arc leaves are because where she ends up, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And that I thought it was interesting because then Grayson says Port Haven should have its own fair.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

And it'll be in the fall.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

And I think is that where Jacob ended up disappearing? Was it the fall?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, the carnival. Fair, the carnival. Yeah. But then you get Cliff walking up. I love Cliff.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And he looks at he looks at Elliot and Elliot's is is wearing his clothes and Cliff's clothes, and he's just like, he asks Elliot if it was if he's wearing his clothes, and he's like, you know, you know, whatever. Um, and then that's when Fern kind of tells Kat that the Augie boys aren't going to go to jail.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_00

They're going to get bailed out.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Because, you know, just like, well, I guess I'll keep politics out of it, but you know, it's like it's uh, yeah. Well, you know, in in political, you know, things are political money talks, right?

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

You know the saying, money talks.

SPEAKER_00

Apparently, very loudly.

SPEAKER_03

And, you know, it happens in all walks of life and and everywhere. If if you have funds, or you know, maybe if you're a gangster.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. Like we, you know, like we're presuming maybe Grayson is, although I do have some doubts about that.

SPEAKER_00

I'm beginning to have doubts too, that he's actually a good person just in with the wrong crowd.

SPEAKER_03

Or well, yeah, maybe we'll see. We'll see.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So right.

SPEAKER_03

So then we go back to um we go back to the present day and tell Del, Del. Del is trying to get, of course, Stormy to trust her again. And Stormy finally, yeah, thank you, God, comes up next to her because I don't like this storyline.

SPEAKER_00

That's when she sa says to Stormy, don't don't you leave me too. Yeah, that was a sad. And Jacob, of course, is watching from the porch.

SPEAKER_03

Right. And he's got tears in his eyes a little bit, right? So it's sort of metaphor in its own way about, like you said, her relationship with Jacob and how she doesn't want him to leave and she wants him to trust her.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

So, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So then we have uh Kat and Elliot. They finally back in 1925. Back in 1925, finally find the tent, Tessa's tent, and they go in to watch. She's about to have a show. So, of course, you know, the Augie boys uh walk in, Grayson walks in, Farn walks in, Cliff walks in, Cliff walks in. So everybody's under the circus tent, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And then I thought it was kind of cool how Tessa shows up on the stage with the little smoke type stuff. I thought that was fun.

SPEAKER_03

That was pretty cool.

SPEAKER_00

And I I just can't get used to that. She's old, so I guess she's 65. Right.

SPEAKER_03

65 and 25.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Isn't that what we were told?

SPEAKER_00

And of course, you know, she asked for a volunteer, and Elliot goes to raise his hand, but Kat grabs it and Kat gets caught up on the stage.

SPEAKER_03

Can we pause just for a second? Yes. We got to talk about Elliot seeing his mom for the first time.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Right. So he only has a picture of her from when he was a baby. He doesn't really have any memory of her.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Right. So he sees her and his eyes are kind of welling up, and it would just be so wild to not have known your mom all those years. And then you're you're plucked into a point in her life, which isn't even your uh time period.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

A different era, and you see her aged.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

You know, at the age whatever it is she turned out to be. And like you said, there she's 65. So I just thought that that was kind of a cool where he, you know, kind of jumps a little bit and then he's startled and his eyes get wide and they're kind of tearing up.

SPEAKER_00

So that was that was a sad scene.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah. So then Kat goes up on stage and she's trying to tell Tessa, you know, I I you know, you're in trouble. Danger, danger, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Danger, Will Robinson, danger.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, danger. I was trying to think of it. Yes, danger, Will Robinson. And if you're of a certain age, you get that reference. Um, and she's you know, and so finally Tessa realizes that she is someone from the because does Kat say she's from the future? Yes, I can't remember if she says that.

SPEAKER_00

She's there to save her, save her from the Augie boys, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then Tessa's like, find me backstage, and Kat's like, great, great plan, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and then she does the smoke bomb again and disappears.

SPEAKER_03

She disappears, yeah. And then we cut cut to the scene where um Kat and Elliot go backstage and they can't find Tessa right away, but then they over Kat overhears Grayson asking Cliff to keep an eye on Fern while he's gone. And so I mean, I gotta wonder if he was jumping too, but he would have to jump with a Landry, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. If Grayson is leaving for a while again, well, you think he's going with where the Augie boys are going.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, going to the meetup place or the the hideout.

SPEAKER_00

That's what I got out of that. Oh, maybe not. He may have been going somewhere.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, you're probably right. But Kat is overhearing and she kind of takes it in, but then I think

Tessa’s Show And Elliot’s Shock

SPEAKER_03

Elliot's like, we gotta go.

SPEAKER_00

Well, she cat kind of figures out that it all of this is a distraction, fern's a distraction. Yeah, Auggy boys are doing a deal down at the cove.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_00

And that's when they take off.

SPEAKER_03

That's right. That's right. Because she remembers what Nick said when he was there that about the Augie Boy says they're at the cove.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

And I actually this well, we'll talk about it a little bit, but I love how this scene leads into the next scene, which is present day, and Max and Alice are at the cove. Yes, and they're sitting on the the um the hood of his cove. The hood of Max's Jeep.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

And they're just having this deep conversation.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Because he took her there because he realizes uh he was standing on the beach when he realized how much he was gonna miss her the next year, and she's starting to realize she doesn't want to leave. You know, and she's well, I guess that happens a little bit later, but yeah. And then we go to Jacob goes to the stable.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

And who does he find at the stable?

SPEAKER_00

Well, he's talking to Stormy, thanking Stormy for joining back up with Dell when he hears some clankity clank up in the loft. So he goes up there, and lo and behold, it's Casey.

SPEAKER_03

Turns out Casey couldn't leave, people. Casey couldn't leave.

SPEAKER_00

Pond wouldn't let her go.

SPEAKER_03

They wouldn't let they go.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, wouldn't let them let them go. I'm sorry, people. Um I apologize. I just yeah, it's hard.

SPEAKER_03

Pond wouldn't let them go.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And um, so J Jacob and and Casey are having a conversation. He's like, You know who we are, but who are you? And then that's when Abby drives up. And and it's kind of funny because I felt like Jacob just forgot all about Casey. Casey. So now Abby and Jacob are having a conversation, and I thought that was a really good scene. Yeah, because it brings them both together.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

So there you go. Landry and a goodwin.

SPEAKER_03

So he's up in the loft, and Abby is down below, and they have the conversation that way. Like he doesn't go down and she doesn't come up. They just have the conversation, and she's like, you know, she didn't used to believe in fate. But now he does, or does it no, he says he didn't use to believe in fate.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

But now he does. And she's like, I don't believe in fate, but I do believe in signs.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

And so science.

SPEAKER_00

Something like that. Signs. Well, maybe it was science.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. But yeah, and then there she's basically like, So what are we gonna do about it? You know, like, okay, now you believe in fate, I believe in signs, here we are at the same place. What are we gonna do about it? You know, she says, you know, she's a land or she's a good one, like a landry in a good one. What are we gonna do about it?

SPEAKER_00

You know, and they were like, What's in a name?

SPEAKER_03

That's because that's what Casey said to Jacob.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Just before that. And so he repeats it. So she was there to help him in that moment.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Because then he says, What's in a name?

SPEAKER_00

So I'm like, Oh, they're gonna get together.

SPEAKER_03

Okay,

The Cove Parallels Across Timelines

SPEAKER_03

now we know the girl in the bar.

SPEAKER_00

So now do you think Casey is Jacob and Abby's daughter? Chen Chai.

SPEAKER_03

I think it's possible.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I think it's possible. I I don't really have any other theories on on Casey. I I really don't. It's like, is that is that too obvious? You know, I'm always like overanced. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Every time I think something's too obvious, I'm wrong. So somebody corrects me.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I'm never right, so even if if I did think it, then it wouldn't turn out to be true. So I don't know. So then we go back to 1925, yeah, and Kat and Elliot are at the cove and they see the Augie boys leading Tessa.

SPEAKER_00

Right. So yeah, because one of them has her by the arm. So it kind of looks like they're getting ready to make a trade deal with whoever's in the boat.

SPEAKER_03

Whoever's in the boat, yep. They're at the water.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then we jump back to the present day.

SPEAKER_00

Jacob and Dell. Oh my goodness. Yes. So so they're talking now in the kitchen, and I love I love this scene because Jacob tells Del that he's gonna stay, you know, and that kind of warmed up Del's heart.

SPEAKER_03

So Yeah. I thought it was so great when he says, you know, he his life, he spent his life trapped in time, literally.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Right. And and he says he wants to stay. And

Casey Stuck And Abby Meets Jacob

SPEAKER_03

and then I think she's also kind of come down from her anger about him possibly leaving. And she's like, I want you to find love. I want you to live your life. Wherever that may be, I just want to know about it and I want to be a part of it.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Because he left so abruptly without saying goodbye um the last time when he left to open the bar. And you know, he wouldn't talk to her, he wouldn't tell her what was going on because you know, obviously he viewed himself as a problem and just bringing trouble to the family. But she's basically just like, I just want to know. I want to know where you are. I, you know, I want to do that.

SPEAKER_00

She just wants to be a part of his journey.

SPEAKER_03

Even if it's from a distance, she understands that could happen.

unknown

Call me.

SPEAKER_03

So call me. What she's like, call me for the people who are listening and not watching us. Scary did the phone motion. Call me.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes I forget where I video.

SPEAKER_03

So, and then we go back to Alice and Max. They're still at the cove, and she has decided she's not leaving. She her gut is telling her not to leave. She is taking Casey's advice, and she's like, My gut is telling me to stay, so I'm gonna stay. I'm not going to New York. And Max gets a little mad.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he does, doesn't he?

SPEAKER_03

Max gets a little.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he's kind of he's kind of a jerk in this scene.

SPEAKER_03

A little bit. A little bit, a little bit. A little bit, a little bit. He's not very understanding, let's just say.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I mean, he kind of well, he yells at her. He yells at her and kind of is like, I don't know what the word would be.

SPEAKER_03

He's demeaning to her. Demeaning. There you go. He's like, you're gonna live your little life in a little town. And I'm like, oh Max, I kind of liked you a little bit, dude.

SPEAKER_00

And now you lost me on that.

SPEAKER_03

When you like demean her like that and say she's just a little life in a little town. And you know, I was thinking not everybody leaves their home. Now, I I strongly believe in my heart of hearts that everybody should, if they can, live in a different location for at least a year of their life and then go back. I think people should get out, I think they should discover. It's just my personal opinion, right? Like I think that you should do that. I think you should go and you should live, and then you could go, uh, it's not for me. I want to go back to my hometown. I, you know, yeah. And going to college is different too, because you go to college and then you usually go back to your hometown for breaks and for summers and things, right? And then you decide what you're gonna do. So it's a little bit different, but um, but some people don't. And some people stay and are perfectly content in the town where they grew up in. They want to help make it thrive, they want to stay and build it up, they want to make changes. I mean, and there's nothing wrong with that.

SPEAKER_00

Nope.

SPEAKER_03

And Max in that moment was just oof, harsh.

SPEAKER_00

He was a jerk.

SPEAKER_03

I felt like right. I mean, if that's her decision, then support her.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

You know, if you were truly saying she's gonna kill somebody, she's gonna she just wants to stay.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Yeah, he was upset.

SPEAKER_03

So I thought that was ooh, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So then we go back to 1925 at the cove. Yes, yeah, man, was that a scene?

SPEAKER_03

Now, this is where there's a big reveal. Yeah, and we're gonna reveal it because we want to talk about it.

SPEAKER_00

So as they're taking Tessa to the boat, Elliot decides he's gonna go down there and stop her. Or was it cat? It was Kat. So Kat's running on the beach saying, No, no, no, you can't take there. And everybody's like, the cops. So everybody starts running everywhere. It was good, it was a funny scene, but a serious scene, too. And this is when you find out that

Del And Jacob Choose Connection

SPEAKER_00

Tessa is not who you think she is.

SPEAKER_03

Yes. So and Tessa says, I don't need saving.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she did, didn't she?

SPEAKER_03

And the guys call her boss.

unknown

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And then she pulls out a gun, fires it up in the air, and then points it at cat. And now you're starting to think, what in the world?

SPEAKER_03

You're thinking, what the Homer, what have you done to me? Come on, come on, Homer.

SPEAKER_00

It's a good twist. I like it though. And then that's when um Elliot's grandfather walks up behind him and knocks him out. Great grandfather, great grandfather, sorry, knocks him out, and uh yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Well, Tessa basically gives the nod to go ahead and knock him out, right? And he does.

SPEAKER_00

And that was it.

SPEAKER_03

So that makes you rethink when Kat and Nick in the I don't know if it was two episodes ago.

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

My episodes are blurring now, but when Kat and Nick find the hideout of the Augie boys and the Auggy boys come out and they're talking and they're saying, you know, Tessa's, what do they say? Tessa's gonna be in big trouble, or there's gonna be there's gonna be trouble. There's gonna be trouble when she when she returns. Now we're thinking they're gonna get her.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Now you realize that had a different meaning.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they she's gonna be upset.

SPEAKER_03

She's gonna be yeah, she is going to be the trouble.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And and uh so that was an interesting, an interesting twist, but I still I mean I still wonder if Tessa is doing things purposefully, right, as a means to an end to protect Elliot, to protect Kat.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

So I that's kind of what I'm I'm wondering now because I I just I don't know. Would they make her someone who would leave her son willingly and then stay on purpose, or did she feel like she needed to stay in order to have things happen the way they're gonna happen for Ellen for Kat?

SPEAKER_00

We're gonna have to find ways.

SPEAKER_03

I don't I d what do you think?

SPEAKER_00

I think so. I don't think the writers would make her that that person, yeah, but there's so many things still out there in play. We still have Griffin, you know.

SPEAKER_03

Well, she did have doubts about being a parent.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she did. Um so I I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

I I hope she's yeah, we have doubts about Griffin, which we're gonna see him more, I guess, in the next episode.

SPEAKER_00

Right. We still got the explosion in the tunnels they gotta resolve.

SPEAKER_03

We have Sam. We don't know who's how Sam plays into all of this.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_03

So we've kind of forgotten about him a little bit.

SPEAKER_00

Cliff in the in the tunnels, was it Griffin in the tunnel? Was it Sam in the tunnel? Who knows?

SPEAKER_03

And the Casey of it all.

SPEAKER_00

And the Casey of it all.

SPEAKER_03

How does Casey fit into all this? There are lots of loose ends people, and not that many episodes left.

unknown

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

So it's gonna be gonna be very interesting. All right, let's go to best moment of the episode.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I would say that last scene was the best moment when it's revealed that she's boss lady.

SPEAKER_03

That was a pretty, pretty good one.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, pretty good one. What about you?

SPEAKER_03

That was a great scene and surprising to me for sure. But I really like the parallel of the cove scenes. Yeah, I love that when they're in one timeline at the cove, and then the next moment you see a different timeline, but it's at the cove, but for different reasons. So I kind of I love that parallel storytelling. So that would be that would be my best moment.

SPEAKER_00

All right. So who stole this episode? Do you think?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, character of the week.

SPEAKER_00

Character of the week. Who was it?

SPEAKER_03

Stormy. No. Um story is the character of the week. You know, gosh. This is really difficult for me because this one wasn't my favorite episode of the season so far. I mean, we did get some nuggets,

Boss Lady Twist And Final Ratings

SPEAKER_03

we did get some information. You know, the end was a big reveal. Um I guess the character of the week would have to be Tessa.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And what we found out. For me, I guess uh if I had to choose one, who would you choose?

SPEAKER_00

Mine would be between Tessa and Casey only because I thought the scenes that Casey were in, she played them really well. And it was almost kind of comical a little bit with the pond.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_00

The way they talked about the pond. Yes. I thought it was cute, but I probably Tessa.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. All right.

SPEAKER_00

All right.

SPEAKER_03

All right.

SPEAKER_00

So is that a wrap?

SPEAKER_03

That's a wrap. I guess how many corks out of five would you give it?

SPEAKER_00

How many times we'll jump in the pond with this one?

SPEAKER_03

How many times do you jump in? That's right. How many times we jump in?

SPEAKER_00

Um, I I'm gonna say probably uh I'm gonna give it a four.

SPEAKER_03

I'm the same.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I was like it was a few years.

SPEAKER_00

It wasn't my best episode, especially with stormy scenes. I felt like it was dragging on, and I'm glad that you know it only took three scenes to get it done, but yeah, a four.

SPEAKER_03

I'm going with the four also.

SPEAKER_00

All right. So now is that a wrap?

SPEAKER_03

That's a wrap.

SPEAKER_00
