On this episode of Pour The Wine, It’s Rom-Com Time, Garry and Amy are cooling things down with a chilled glass of Chardonnay and heading to Texas! They’re breaking down Hallmark Channel’s Texas Two Step, the second Summer Nights 2026 movie, with plenty of laughs, romance, and fun.

Olivia (Heather Hemmens) returns home to help Aunt Ruby (BJ Harrison) save her country music bar, but the biggest surprise walks in wearing a cowboy hat. When her old boyfriend Luke (Brendan Penny) comes back into her life, the past suddenly feels very present, and those old sparks start to fly. Garry and Amy dive into the reunion, the undeniable chemistry, and why Heather Hemmens and Brendan Penny make this second-chance romance shine.

They’re diving into the movie’s most romantic, flirty, and feel good moments, from the re-meet cute and cowboy charm to the scenes where the chemistry really takes center stage. They also celebrate the supporting cast, including June’s hilarious honesty, Aunt Ruby’s heartfelt wisdom, and a surprisingly low-key love triangle that keeps things interesting.

And, of course, they have to talk about THAT bar kiss: the buildup, the chemistry, and the moment that proves Hallmark can turn up the heat while still keeping the romance sweet. Packed with laughs, swoons, favorite scenes, and all the little details that make a rom-com worth talking about, this review will have you ready to grab a glass and two-step your way to Texas!

Pour your favorite beverage, get cozy, and press play!

SPEAKER_00

Four or five days now, yep. It's really, really hot. I know I said for a minute I was ready for it to be warm and some summer nights, but ooh, give me like 90 degrees at least.

August 2026 Hallmark Movie Lineup

SPEAKER_00

All right. Let's dive into our our our good grief. What kind of deal is this gonna be? I guess so. Heard it through the grapevine where we're gonna talk about news, rumors, anything we've heard that might be kind of in the rumor mill. So we have heard the lineup, we have seen the lineup for August of 2026. Thanks to Hallmark Enthusiast 24-7. She's so great. She go to her Instagram page, follow her. Um she is always up on the latest and the greatest. So we get five movies in August. Five. And we will do a formal preview before August 1st, right? Like we normally do. Or maybe it'll drop August 1st. I'm not really sure where it falls in the in the week. But we are getting the following pairings, which is great, and movie titles. Toast to Italy. That sounds like it could be wine-related there.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yes, it is.

SPEAKER_00

Starring Tori DeVito and Will Kemp. Absolutely devoted to you, starring Kimberly Susted and Jesse Metcalf. Aussie at Heart, which has Rihanna Fish and Daniel Lissing, Love Finds You, excuse me, starring Amy Teargarden and Chris McNally. And then Rounding Out August will be Much About Love, starring Ashley Williams and Niall Matter. And if you follow, if you don't follow Ashley on Instagram, go follow her because she did a um, I think a live with Nile not too long ago, and he was actually on vacation on a boat because she was announcing this movie. So it's pretty cute. She she's so great. Gosh, we love her. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So man, there you go. And you know what's funny is she accidentally let it slip throughout the whole um live broadcast she was doing. She was letting people guess, but then it's like who was starring in it with her. Right, right. That was so funny.

SPEAKER_00

And then she was texting Niall and she was like, Come on, Niall, and then she, oh my gosh, it's it's cute. It's really cute. She kind of gave it away.

SPEAKER_02

So that was pretty cute. Yeah, it was.

SPEAKER_00

All right.

Texas Two Step Basics And Spoilers

SPEAKER_00

Well, today we're going to be reviewing the second summer nights movie of 2026, Texas Two Step. It originally aired on the Hallmark channel on Saturday, June 13th, 2026, and stars Heather Hemons as Olivia and Brendan Penny as Luke. We last saw both during 2025's Countdown to Christmas. Heather was in The Snow Must Go On, and Brendan was in The More the Merrier. Of course, we always have to mention Chesapeake Shores because we love that show so much whenever it comes up. And Brendan played Kevin O'Brien in that series.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And two other standout characters in this movie that I definitely want to mention. Kayla Xander plays June, which is Olivia's best friend, and BJ Harrison plays Olivia's Aunt Ruby.

SPEAKER_01

And both so good.

SPEAKER_00

So so good. Performances.

SPEAKER_01

Well, this was written by Mel Cohen and directed by Eva Tavares. This is Mel's Hallmark debut. We always get a debut, you know. I know. Pretty cool. That's awesome. Eva's directed one other Hallmark project, 2025's Christmas Baby. She has also she has several Hallmark acting credits, including the Cherry Lane movies, and 2025's A Royal Montana Christmas.

SPEAKER_00

So excellent.

SPEAKER_01

Let's drop the synopsis.

SPEAKER_00

Alrighty. Olivia returns to Texas to help her aunt with her country music bar that's fallen on hard times and reconnects with Luke, her childhood sweetheart turned cowboy, and her passion for dancing. And what a cowboy Luke is in this one. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Get the scruffiness going. Well, this is a part of the podcast where we tell you we're gonna drop some spoilers. So if you haven't seen this movie yet, I would suggest you pause us, go watch it, come back, listen to our podcast, and let us know what you think. Or just listen to our podcast and just know that when we review it, we're probably spot on.

SPEAKER_00

We might oh, we're probably spot on.

SPEAKER_01

And then you can go right.

SPEAKER_00

Probably giveaway. Yeah, yeah. Well, because we talk about favorite scenes and things, and I I think this one, you know, sort of a typical Hallmark formula, right? So you could probably guess what happens even if we didn't say it, but just based on the uh synopsis. So funny. Hey, all right. There's a reason why it's a it's a hallmark formula, right? It works.

SPEAKER_01

That's right, it works, and it's been working for decades. Right. So there you go. All right, so let's dive in.

First Impressions And Chemistry

SPEAKER_01

All right, and let's go to what did you think?

SPEAKER_00

What did I think? What was my first take? Well, I just thought this was a fun, flirty movie with great music. I thought it was a gr just a really great addition to the summer nights lineup. We love Heather Hemons in everything. She her acting is always just so effortless. I know. Right? And she's just adorable. I mean, just we just love her. And Brendan's charisma is really good in this. He is fantastic, and their chemistry, of course, is pretty fire. There are some there are some steamy moments in this one. Come on, Hallmark. We're loving it, we're loving it. And I really liked that we got a really strong secondary romance. I thought that was great too. And like I said, we had to mention the actress who plays June because she's so good in it, and so she, you know, her the she's part of the secondary romance, which I thought was so well done throughout the movie. So I I really enjoyed it. I thought it was a strong second movie in the summer nights lineup. What about you? What'd you think?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I agree, and I just have to say, Hallmark, whoo, this one was steamy. There were some it was some steams, man, and we'll talk about it, yeah, especially in the bar.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, okay, okay.

SPEAKER_01

And then when he was fixing the fence, all right, we're gonna get to it.

SPEAKER_00

We gotta get it. We're gonna get to it.

SPEAKER_01

All right, but you know, like you said, I thought the acting, not not just the leads, but the the supporting cast were excellent.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I I thought the music went with the scene, and you know how we are with music. Yes, for me, music sets the mood of the scene.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

I thought they did a great job with that.

SPEAKER_00

No quirky music, I don't think, caught in this one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I don't think it was too like campy, so to speak. I thought it was it was an interesting movie that kept me, you know, engaged and yeah, I loved it. Yeah. So there you go.

Favorite Moments And The Re Meet Cute

SPEAKER_00

All right, cool. So let's get into some favorite scenes. And you know, I think you and I both would agree without using it as one of our favorite scenes. But then there's a shot at the beginning, so Olivia has to go back home, right? To um try to help her aunt with the bar because she's uh in business in Los Angeles, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. So she has to go home and um to the country.

SPEAKER_01

To the country.

SPEAKER_00

To the country in Texas. And um she's you know, she gets home and she walks into the bar and she's got this moment. Oh no, it's not in the bar, it's at the very beginning. What am I saying?

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh. I gotta rewind. Let me rewind that. So sorry, so sorry. I wasn't thinking. Right, because she's a photographer's assistant, and this happens, this happens uh towards the beginning, where sh they're doing a what is it? An ad. An ad, and they have two people who are gonna be in the ad, the models, and they're doing their it's like cowboy gear and like a western setup type of thing, and they're trying to get them to act like they're in love with each other and getting ready to dance, and the photographer can't do it. So uh Olivia steps in and she kind of guides them, and then she has this vision of someone coming from behind her. She's thinking about it, and of course it's Brendan Penny, but you can't see his face, right? And just the way they shot it. So he comes from behind her and around into the front and puts his hand out for her to grab his hand, and it's so well done.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was.

SPEAKER_00

So she has this moment, there's this brief glimpse, and then she's like right back into the present of what she is doing with this shoot, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yep, yep, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It was so good.

SPEAKER_01

I know.

SPEAKER_00

It was so, so well done. And so, and the cowboy hats tipped down just enough where you can't see his face his eyes.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So that was just right out of the gate. I felt like it started strong with that.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

But anywho, okay, so favorite scene. What's one of yours?

SPEAKER_01

Um now that I've talked myself around the first scene and got one of one of my favorite scenes is when they first when um Olivia in June, June book, first walk into the bar and Olivia turns on the light and how cool everything just lights up. And it shows, you know, from one end to the other of the bar. I mean, it was and it's just the look on her face, like, oh, I'm home.

SPEAKER_00

Just the look on yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and June, and you know, June, she hasn't seen the bar, she just has you know what Olivia's talked about. But the look on her face too is like, oh wow. You know, this is really, really cool. So that was one of my scene favorite scenes.

SPEAKER_00

All right, so that gets to so they've gotten to the bar, so you want to talk about the meat cute?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Well, which one?

SPEAKER_00

Before we before we talk about any more favorite scenes. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

All right, go ahead.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Um what do you mean, which one?

SPEAKER_01

Well, you are you talking about June's.

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm talking about um, well, it's a re-meat cute, I guess, with Olivia Olivia and Luke.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So Luke walks into the bar, real slow motion, right? I know. I love June. And he walks up to and Olivia is there with June. And I can't, are all the people in there yet? I can't remember.

SPEAKER_01

No, no one's in there yet.

SPEAKER_00

No one's in there yet. But so he walks right up to her, man, and is really close to her, and he calls her Livy, which I thought was so cute. And, you know, she's like, no one calls me that. And he says, I call you that. You know, I just thought it was really cute, banter right away. You can see she's kind of annoyed and she doesn't really want to talk to him, but he is very his personal space is close to her. And then they make some kind of innuendos during it, like, you know, the whole something about a bull and riding bulls get you trampled. And he says, only if you get thrown. And I'm like, Hallmark.

SPEAKER_01

Come on now.

SPEAKER_00

Pretty good, pretty good. And then, and then when he walks away, June is like, tell me everything right now to Olivia. And then Luke has walked away and he's talking to someone else. And Olivia and Luke kind of have this look where they both glance at each other, you know, from across the room. So that was sort of the the remeet cute because she hasn't been home in a long time, and um, you know, things didn't end great between them.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So but so all right, so that's the remeet cute.

SPEAKER_01

And how would you rate that?

SPEAKER_00

So we have decant it, oh, which is the gold standard, pour it, strong chemistry, sip it, cute enough to enjoy, or cork it, no spark.

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna decant it.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna decant it too. I thought it was really, really good.

SPEAKER_01

It was so funny. I mean, just the because when he first walks in, June is like, oh, who is this?

SPEAKER_02

Excuse me.

SPEAKER_01

And then she looks at Olivia looking at Luke, and she's like, Oh, that's Luke.

SPEAKER_00

That's Luke, yeah, because she's heard about him, right, at that point a few times. And it's just it's so good, good. And Brendan Penny with the swagger coming in. I'm like, he is full-on swag, swagger in this.

SPEAKER_01

That cowboy hat half button, blue uh button down, denim shirt. Yeah, denimptiness going on. He had the cowboy, he's playing it, man. I was impressed. I was impressed. So yeah, there's that me cute.

SPEAKER_00

All right, let's talk about favorite scenes, another favorite scene or a favorite scene of your another one of yours.

Fence Scene Heat And June Bug Energy

SPEAKER_01

Um the one where he's fixing the fence that you know, um Aunt Ruby had asked him a week prior to fix it, but he was just kind of busy. But then old Olivia rolls up in town and he's like, Oh yeah, I'll be there to now. And he's out there fixing it, and Aunt Ruby and Olivia are in the window looking at him, and they're kind of going back and forth, you know, talking about stuff and making biscuits. And Luke turns around and he kind of lifts his shirt up to wipe the sweat off his face.

SPEAKER_00

To wipe his face, yes.

SPEAKER_01

Man, come on now. I need that, I got a dad body, but man, that was an eight-pack, and I was like, Even you were impressed, right?

SPEAKER_00

Heck yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We were like, okay, there was some envy going on there, and then you know, the the Aunt Ruby and Olivia are still going back and forth, and you could tell Olivia was like, Oh, okay, okay, and then um, as he's getting ready to leave, he you know, calls his horse, and then Livia goes, Oh no, he didn't bring the horse.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I think this is what she's saying, he brought the horse.

SPEAKER_01

He brought the horse.

SPEAKER_00

And they're like, he brought the horse. Of course he did. It was so good. It was so good.

SPEAKER_01

Again, it was like one of them slow-mo scenes where he's lifting his shirt uh just enough to give you a peek, and it was like, Okay, all right, Brianna.

SPEAKER_00

Uh yeah, that was that was that was one of them. I'm glad you brought that up because that was just such a great scene.

SPEAKER_02

The horse.

SPEAKER_00

And you've got Aunt Ruby in there, right, in the mix. And she's like, Come on in for some biscuits. And he was he said something like next time or whatever. Yeah. It was just it was so that was just such a great scene, the way it was shot, the the banter between the characters, the way Brendan Penny, you know, acted in that scene. You know, it was it was awesome. Yeah, it was so good. So good.

SPEAKER_01

So what what was another one?

SPEAKER_00

I like there's a scene where so June finally confronts Luke about why he didn't get back together with Olivia. And I think they're in Sweetwaters, right? The they're in the bar. And then she's like, it's because you're a guy, right? Feelings are hard and get stuck in your chest, which I thought was so funny. She's so good. She was so good.

SPEAKER_01

Give that girl a lead and roll because she could she could pull it off.

SPEAKER_00

What did I say her name? Wait, wait, wait. I'm looking for I'm sorry, her name is escaping me now.

SPEAKER_01

Kayla Xander.

SPEAKER_00

Kayla Xander, yeah. Yes, yes, she is so good in it. Man, it just cracked me up. But then, but then Mason walks in, who is Olivia's like cousin or second cousin or whatever, and he comes in, and then he's like, We need to figure out why Luke and Olivia aren't together. Then Brian and Olivia walk in because and it was like this scene where they all kind of just you know, kind of all end up together in the same place, and yeah, and then that's when Luke has Brian, who Olivia has started, she like went out on a date with or whatever. It was somebody they both knew in when they were growing up, but and so then Luke has Brian help him with the refrigerator in the back, which he knows is gonna end up getting Brian wet, wet, squirted with something from the refrigerator as they try to fix it. So um, I just thought that that whole scene, uh, the layers of the characters as they came in, the way they played off each other, and it just June in that moment when she says that line, just I mean, I think we laughed out loud. She's saying, because you're a guy, right? Feelings are hard. Feelings it gets stuck in your chest, but then you had each person walk in and they're all trying to figure out why Olivia and Luke aren't together, and Olivia comes in with someone else, and it was just the way it was layered was so good. It was so good. Yeah, it was like onions, it was layered. Yeah, yeah. I I just thought that was great. Any other favorites from you?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think the dance the one dance scene, um, because you know, um Luke is kind of like teasing Olivia that she forgot how to dance, it's not like riding a bike. But the dance scene was um uh Brian and Olivia danced together, and Luke and some some other girl were dancing, and then they end up switching with each other. You could tell right then that that chemistry just caught on fire. It was like, whoosh, and I'm telling you, some dirty dancing going on there. I'm telling you.

SPEAKER_00

When he dips her, that's the scene that he dips her, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, and it's like, okay, so they're going back and forth, and it shot really well, and then the lights go off, and when they come back on, Olivia's holding the hand of one hand with Brian and one hand with um Luke. Luke, yeah. And I thought that was so cool. Yes, the way they shot that. It's like, uh oh.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, because that's when that's when he's been asking, Luke has been asking her to dance, but then she ends up dancing with Brian, right? Is that the scene that yeah, and then and then her and Luke end up dancing and he dips her. And when did they end up kissing?

SPEAKER_01

The um It's after that, right?

SPEAKER_00

It's not in that. That's right, that's right. I was trying to remember. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So what about you?

Regrets Talk Then The Big Kiss

SPEAKER_00

Um, I liked uh when Olivia and Luke have this just really great talk in the backyard of Ruby's house, and you know, they're just discussing, you know, again, it's always communication, right? She she's talking. They're they're talking, I think, about like she realizes that she doesn't love what she does. Olivia doesn't love what she does in her life, and she's been caught up living someone else's life, which is she really wants to be a photographer, but she's really working for a photographer, right? And she's doing everything for that photographer, and making her face. And you know, she said she hasn't been present and she really needs to see things, and you know, and then I thought it was really great because then Luke says, you know, he, Aunt Ruby, and Olivia, they work so hard so that they don't have to think about anything else. Right. They just stay focused on that. And then I think she says something like, So what do you, what are you trying not to think about? And he's like, I spend most of my days trying not to think about you. And I was like, Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

That was that was good.

SPEAKER_00

And then he, you know, he admits that he burned it all down and he shouldn't, you know, and and shouldn't have after she broke up with him, but he was, you know, too hurt and too stuck, and whatever. I just thought it was really great. And then they start to dance out there, and they're both, you know, kind of tearing up as they're talking because they have regrets about what happened. Right. And then they almost kiss.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And then the kiss doesn't happen at that point.

SPEAKER_01

That that's when June comes out. Right, right.

SPEAKER_00

Ruby fell. Ruby fell, or yeah, yeah, whatever. But yeah, I just thought that was such a great I just really liked that scene a lot. And they're both both Brendan and Heather were so great and intimate in that scene.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So they were. And I I just loved it. Well, you know, the whole premise was um Mason had called Ruby back to help with um her cousin Mason, right, right. I mean, had called Olivia back to help with Ruby because she had she had fallen or something. So, but there was more to the story, and apparently, you know, the whole thing is she was she She owed money because her husband, before he passed away, I guess he wasn't paying taxes.

SPEAKER_00

Well, right, right.

SPEAKER_01

Right. So so Olivia came up with the plan to throw a dance a thon. And one of the things before this, and this is my last favorite scene, is I know what you're gonna talk about because I have it down too.

SPEAKER_00

I'm so glad we had all the same. And we don't talk about it. I mean, we might say, Oh, that was really good, or whatever, but we um But we don't the way it starts off is Olivia is back at at the bar, right?

SPEAKER_01

And she's the only one in there, and she's kind of having a flashback of when she was little dancing with Luke. Her little boots dancing.

SPEAKER_00

Her little boots, they're probably like what, eight or ten or something.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. Yeah, and it was such a cute scene, but then as she's coming out of it, out of the flashback, Luke walks in.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

This is where Hallmark gets us again. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And since this was part of your favorite scene too, I'll let you tell.

SPEAKER_00

No, you go ahead. No, you're doing a good job. You're good. I'm just I'll just chime in when I want to.

SPEAKER_01

Anyways, you know, he comes in and they have that dun dun dun dun dungeon.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, stop. That cherry to follow. No, only it was better music. It was better music.

SPEAKER_01

And it and oh my God. This is where they kiss, and he picks her up and sits her on the bar.

SPEAKER_00

Was it a bar? I could I didn't know if they were on a table or like a bar.

SPEAKER_01

It was like a I I don't think it was a table, but it was kind of like a ledge that was on the dance floor, you know, where you could put your drinks down on. And it was like, okay. And then they were kissing, and then comes in, what's the name of the band? Um, Sweetfoots or something.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I don't know what the the name of the band that plays there at the bar. I'm not that I'm not sure. I didn't.

SPEAKER_01

But it was such a kiss. I was like, okay.

SPEAKER_00

That was a good the fact that he picks her up.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh, that was I was like, what am I watching?

SPEAKER_00

And bring it on some more, Hallmark. Come on now.

SPEAKER_01

I'm telling you, they got this stuff off of Dirt Danson.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's so it was so good because Sugarfoots. It's like they oh, is that what the name of the band is that plays at the bar at Sweetwater, Sweetwater's? Um, but it's so good because Hallmark is really, you know, see, you can do it without doing it. You know what I mean? And I don't mean do it, do it. I just realized I rocked into that. I meant like you can have a scene like that and really push it to that boundary. And it's very, you know, there's so much chemistry between them in that moment, and you can feel it, but you don't have to show anything else. No, like him picking her up, and I mean Hallmark, let's go there all the time, you know, because that's real life. It's so good. It's it was so. I agree. I mean, I just I I know we're like, okay.

SPEAKER_01

I thought we'd just go like this, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Now that was really good too. But you notice, I mean, but that was another one that is really well done, but shot completely different.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Right? I mean, and so you can see they can take it. Come on, Hallmark, you know. We see you, Hallmark. We see you trying to, you know, like you're we we see you. And this was the perfect, this was the perfect movie to do that in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So all right, yeah, I was there with you. Total favorite scene.

SPEAKER_01

All right.

SPEAKER_00

So do you have any more or um did you have anything? No, I didn't really. I didn't. I I love that June named her puppy Clark Gable.

SPEAKER_01

I know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I thought that that was really cute. I was like, okay, that was cute. Okay, anyway, that was just a final. All right, all right, so let's get into did you have any wait what awards?

Wait What Awards Cheers Jeers Ratings

SPEAKER_01

Um, the wait what was when he picked her up and set her on the table.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yours wasn't like a mistake, yours was like, hello, Hallmark.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, wait, what? Come on, man. Oh, but no, that that that was mine. I was well, okay, maybe, maybe with what was his name, Brian. I thought that relationship was kind of like it was kind of forced between him and the uh Brian and Olivia, and it kind of ended real fast.

SPEAKER_00

A little bit of a love triangle.

SPEAKER_01

But in the end, it all worked out because he helped with the m the dance-a-thon with the electronics and stuff and the streaming. And of course he found a girl too, so yeah. Well other than that, I didn't have a wait, what? Well, how about you?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I didn't. The only thing I had was maybe about the f the the character who played the the photographer character. That was one that I thought was a little bit the red award. Now I know the actress, I think she's in Wind Calls the Heart, or I didn't write her name down. And she was good at what she was doing. I'm saying just the way the role was. I just you know, you have someone so successful and you know that they're oftentimes dependent on their assistants, right? Like because their assistants have all their schedules and you keep them on track and everything, but it just seemed like almost too much that she was too I liked her more towards the end.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

When she came to help her. Right. So my wait what would be like, would they really be like that? I mean, I don't know. You know, it just was a little bit too much of a quirky character for me.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

But you know, that could be a personal thing too. But that would be my wait what. All right, let's get into some cheers.

SPEAKER_01

What are I mean, we've talked about a lot of them, but I I just love how my one my cheer is how they all came together to help out Aunt Ruby. I mean, you you know, you love the small town community coming together, yeah, you know, trying to figure out a way because Brian was trying to buy the bar so he could put up some condos and stuff. And he was still like, you know, if you if you need the money, I'll give you the money. But you know, they wanted to do it their way and uh and keep the bar.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And that's what they ended up doing. So yeah, that was my cheer. What about you?

SPEAKER_00

Well, I mean, I was trying to uh you know, I would just say overall the chemistry between Olivia and Luke was so good. I loved June, the best friend. Oh my gosh, she was and I mean BJ Harrison, she's great in everything too. I mean, she's like, you know, a hallmark staple too. So she was so good at Aunt Ru as Aunt Ruby and all the little nuggets that were dropped. I thought that was great. Yeah, you know, where she was like, two people who dance so well, you sure are clumsy, you know. Like that was one of the things she said to um to uh Olivia about her and Luke. But I thought the music was great. I love that we got the country bar and the country line dancing.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And, you know, I liked that, like you mentioned um Brian. There was never any ill will. And I don't even really think they were trying like a love triangle. I think it was just a little bit of, you know, she was kind of checking out him and they went out on a date, and he was interested in Olivia, but he didn't get mad. There was no big rivalry, he didn't try to sabotage anything. You know, I liked that it was just a normal flow of what adult relationships are, and he was still willing to help, even though he didn't get the girl, you know. So I thought that that was I I thought that was great. And I mean, I would be remiss if I didn't say the whole kissing, picking her up on the D Nell like that was so, so good. So good. I just I just thought it was yeah, I thought it was a really, really good movie, just enjoyable.

SPEAKER_01

It it really it truly was from start to finish. Every character played it well, yeah. And like I said, you know, give June Bug her own leading role because I think she could probably pull it off.

SPEAKER_00

And what a great story from a first-time Hallmark writer. It wasn't her first writing credit, but a first-time Hallmark writer, right? Like that's she did good and she pushed it. And the director, who did um A Ava, right? Or I don't know if it's Eva or Eva. I'm not oh Eva. Eva Eva Torres, is that right?

SPEAKER_01

Uh uh Tavares. Tavares.

SPEAKER_00

Sorry, I don't want to say her name wrong. I'm sorry.

SPEAKER_01

Eva Tavares.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I thought the directing was great. I thought the shots were so well done. Um, yeah, just really, really good.

SPEAKER_01

The music. And the band, when the band when the band played, when the band played, I thought I thought they did a really good job. You know, it wasn't too quirky with it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh no, no, not at all. It was country bar, right? Like all right, so jeers. Did you have any jeers?

SPEAKER_01

Um, no, not really. Maybe some more dancing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I wanted to see some more dancing, but uh, no. No, I didn't have any. What about you?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I thought of one more cheer. The poster for this was so good. Yeah. The movie poster from Homework, it was fire. Oh my gosh, Homework. All of the posters can be like that.

SPEAKER_01

Not, I mean Hey, I'm gonna tell you what, that poster lived up to it.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, it really did. That poster was amazing. Yes, so well done. Oh goodness. All right, anywho, um, jeers. The only thing that I would say, I I wasn't crazy about the Miro character at the beginning. That would be just a slight jeer from me. Um but it towards the end, she was fine. And a little a little quirkiness was fine for me, but that's a personal thing with me. Um the only other thing I would say is I mentioned it earlier that I thought was cute that June named her dog, her puppy Clark Gable, but I feel like we missed out on. I wonder if there were some scenes that were cut with June that showed that she was like a movie buff or liked old movies, or I just felt like that was from left field, you know, that she named the puppy Clark Gable. Because I was like, did she say something about liking movies? Yeah, or did she reference.

SPEAKER_01

I don't remember.

SPEAKER_00

Because I re at the beginning she's like, let's go, girl. I mean, that's a reference to the song The Shouldn't Tonight when they're going on the road trip. I thought that scene was really cute too, by the way. I keep going back to scenes I like, but yeah, um but yeah, that would be the only thing. I felt like the Clark Gable thing should have landed a little differently because she was someone who liked movies or I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Man, yeah but that's it.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, it was good.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

All right, so out of five corks, or should we say cowboy hats?

SPEAKER_00

Out of five cowboy hats. Are we gonna change? How many would you wear? Um, I'm gonna go back to corks because um oh gosh, this is this is this is tough because I'm gonna go 4.75.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I really, really enjoyed it.

SPEAKER_01

Uh yeah, I was going four or five.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna have to start writing it down because I get towards the end and I'm like, I know what I'm gonna say, and then I'm like all right. So what about you?

SPEAKER_01

I'm gonna go four five.

SPEAKER_00

A four-five, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it it definitely is a rewatch and uh you know I'll sit down on the couch again and watch it because man, it was it was good. It was pretty good.

SPEAKER_00

It was pretty, pretty good, pretty good.

SPEAKER_01

All right. All right, is that a wrap?

SPEAKER_00

That's a wrap.
