On this episode of Pour the Wine, It’s Rom-Com Time, Garry and Amy are reviewing Hallmark’s Absolutely Devoted to You, a rom-com featuring a ’90s boy band reunion, second chances, and plenty of nostalgic sparkle.

Starring Kimberly Sustad as Kaitlin, a morning show producer chasing a promotion, and Jesse Metcalfe as Derrick, a former boy band heartthrob who’s traded the spotlight for mentoring teens at a community center, the movie asks whether love can hit the right note when the past comes calling.

Garry and Amy uncork what works, what falls flat, and whether the chemistry lives up to the hype. They’ll also break down the meet cute, uncork the chemistry, share their biggest cheers and jeers, and reveal which character they’d most want to share a glass of wine with.

Pour your favorite beverage, get cozy, and press play. Cheers!

Send us an email to pourthewineitsromcomtime@gmail.com! We'd love to hear your thoughts!

Welcome And Fall Movie News

SPEAKER_02

Welcome to Pour the Wine. It's romcom time, where we'll sip some wine and review all things rom com on the Hallmark channel. I'm Amy.

SPEAKER_03

And I'm Gary. And it's time for Heard It Through the Grapevine.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Well, Hallmark recently announced that we're going to be getting two brand new spectacular movies as part of the Fall Into Love lineup. A Night to Remember is based on the book Her Night to Remember. It will air Saturday, October 3rd, and stars Julie Gonzalo and James Trevina.

SPEAKER_04

That sounds cool.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, very exciting. And then we will also be getting The Spirit of Halloween, which premieres Saturday, October 10th, the following week. And that stars Megan Ori and Kevin McGee. Oh. They're the headliners in that one. So it's kind of cool that we're getting two Halloween-ish movies.

SPEAKER_04

I know. That's gonna be awesome.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it'd be pretty exciting.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Right. Ever since last year's Halloween movie.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, the Haul Out, the Halloween. So funny. So good. Yeah. If you haven't seen it, go check that out. Of course, part of the Haul Out series.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Which are

Meet Absolutely Devoted To You

SPEAKER_02

really fun movies. Yeah. Yeah. All right. Should we get into it? Just dive right into it today.

SPEAKER_04

Let's get into it today.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Today we're going to be reviewing Absolutely Devoted to You. It aired on the Hallmark Channel on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, and is streaming right now on Hallmark Plus. This one stars Kimberly Susted as Caitlin. She is a TV producer. And Jesse Metcalf plays Derek, the lead singer. Absolutely, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

That's such a funny name.

SPEAKER_02

Megan Hefferin is Sarah, Caitlin's assistant. Tetiana Astapovich and Barry W. Levy play Mary and Mason, and they're the co-hosts of the morning show.

SPEAKER_04

That is so funny.

SPEAKER_02

Over exuberant.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

Over the top. Well, she is anyway, Mary. Yeah, character Mary is. So this is um Kimberly is fresh off of three countdown to Christmas movies Christmas at the Catnip Cafe, Three Wisest Men, and Merry Christmas, Ted Cooper.

SPEAKER_04

All excellent movies.

SPEAKER_02

Uh-huh. And this is actually Jesse's return to the Hallmark channel for the first time in five years. We last saw him on Chesapeake Shores.

SPEAKER_04

And welcome back, Jesse.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome back, Jesse.

SPEAKER_04

It's been a long time ago.

SPEAKER_02

Five years in the making.

SPEAKER_04

The writers are Allie Spook, Casey Tabineau, and Matthew Willis. Allie and Casey last wrote Scouting for Christmas for Hallmark, and this is Matthew Hallmark Premiere.

SPEAKER_02

Matthew's Hallmark. Yay!

SPEAKER_04

Hey Matthew. Stacey Ann Harding directed it, and she last directed. She's making a list, which we reviewed, and you can find it on Apple or Spotify.

SPEAKER_02

And we also interviewed the creators of She's Making a List, Veronica Brown and Joey DePolo.

Synopsis And Spoiler Ground Rules

SPEAKER_02

Go find that podcast episode.

SPEAKER_04

And take a listen. All right. So is it time to drop the synopsis?

SPEAKER_02

It is time to drop the synopsis. All right.

SPEAKER_04

Let's do it.

SPEAKER_02

An ambitious TV producer devises a brilliant plan to reunite a 90s boy band for an annual summer beach bash. But her idea is derailed when she falls for the band's reluctant lead singer. Well, I wouldn't say it's derailed because she falls for him. I would say it's derailed because he's reluctant to come back and be the lead singer.

SPEAKER_04

I understand.

SPEAKER_02

For a weed band. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Well, this is the part of the podcast where we may drop some spoilers. So if you haven't seen the movie yet, you can listen to our podcast and then go watch it, or you can go watch it and then come back and take a listen to our podcast and figure out what we rated it. There you go.

SPEAKER_02

Figure out. You could hear it.

SPEAKER_04

Or you could hear it.

SPEAKER_02

Figure it out. You can get it.

SPEAKER_04

Figure it out by the time we get to the end of the podcast.

SPEAKER_00

There you go.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, that's so funny. All right. So um you want to pour this out?

SPEAKER_02

You want me to pour it out? Time to pour it out. Did you have a little glitch?

SPEAKER_04

No, I'm sorry. I was trying to find my document. My bad. I kind of checked out there for a second.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, hello.

SPEAKER_04

Hello.

First Impressions And Tone Debate

SPEAKER_02

Do I need to call 911?

SPEAKER_04

One sip of wine. That was it.

SPEAKER_02

All right. So uh I probably am gonna have an unpopular opinion about this movie. It's not bad. It's not bad. It's not a bad opinion.

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_02

I just I, you know, it was it was kind of cute. It was sort of tongue in cheek, right? Um Kimberly Sustead is so great in whatever she does. Yeah. We love dry, witty humor. She is the queen of that. She's so good at delivering those types of lines. Jesse Metcalf, I thought was really good. I, but I feel like the two of them were sort of plopped into the middle of a movie that doesn't really work outside of them. I really enjoyed them.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_02

But the movie as a whole, it's weird because they're, you know, they're really actually pretty great in it. I know. I enjoyed both of them in it, but the movie as a whole, I was just kind of like, uh it's okay. Like the writing was decent and it was, you know, and it was shot okay, and the pacing was all right. It just didn't totally come together for me. I, you know, m we talked about Mary, uh, one of the co-hosts of the morning show. And when it starts off, you know, it's it's very like Saturday Night Live-ish, as they're introducing everybody on the morning show, and you know, they go to her and she is like way over the top. Now, she's really good at playing it like that.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_02

You know, I felt like, and so she's consistent through the whole thing, which I thought was kind of fun, but it was almost too much for me.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So that's sort of where I stand. How about you? Um and we don't we don't talk about it. We kind of watch it. We're like, okay.

SPEAKER_04

I I actually like I liked her character, Mary. I I thought she was funny and she was giddy because she was really into absolutely yeah, and um, you know. I what about Winkle's the lifeguard dog? 10 million views. Oh that's about how it goes, right?

SPEAKER_02

The lifeguard Winkles. Is that what his name was?

SPEAKER_04

Winkle's the lifeguard dog who got 10 million views was supposed to be their their main event for the end of summer bash.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But uh, but he checked out and went over to the other the competing news, good morning mood news or whatever it was. Um, but you know, you're right, it did feel like at the beginning it had that Saturday night vibe, Saturday night live vibes with the opening and everything. It was very hallmarky, very tongue-in-cheek. Kimberly and um and uh Jesse, I thought it was good, it was good. They they had some good chemistry. And we'll talk about that kiss at the end, but um, you know, I I I thought the story was interesting.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you know, they're different.

SPEAKER_04

They're both trying to save their jobs, and um, you know, and he is very reluctant in this one, and I and I felt like it was a little bit too much because I don't think that a person would be that guarded, but you never know.

SPEAKER_02

But that's interesting. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So there, I poured it out.

SPEAKER_02

You poured it out, all right.

SPEAKER_04

I'm empty.

The Meet Cute And Rating

SPEAKER_02

So let's talk about, let's talk about, let's get right to the meat cute.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, let's do it.

SPEAKER_02

This is where we're gonna rate it, right? We're gonna either decant it, which means it was great, strong chemistry, memorable, sip it. It was cute enough to enjoy, or cork it. No spark, no butterflies, move along. All right, so let's talk about the meat cute. So Derek is he works at a community center.

SPEAKER_04

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

For kids, or is it a community center in general? It's for it's for kids. Understood that, but so and he's trying to fix a ping pong table and um what is her character's name?

SPEAKER_04

Uh uh Caitlin.

SPEAKER_02

Uh Caitlin, thank you. Yeah, Caitlin walks in. Now she is looking for him because she is trying to get him to be a part of the reunion for the morning talk show, of which she is a producer.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Right. So she has walked into the room, he's bent down, he's trying to fix the ping-pong table, and he's like, Here, hold the net. And he does, he doesn't look at her, he's like under the table, and she's like, What? And when he stands up, he's like all smiles. It's almost like, you know, you have like boy band music in the background, it's very slow motion, it's very boy band-ish, you know, like a boy band video. And then, yeah, I actually thought that was really cute. And then he introduces himself, and you know, she tells him then that she wants to get the band together for a reunion, and they continue the talk into the hallway, and she's practically like begging him because he's like, not interested. Don't care, you know, not interested. So that's that's pretty much the meat cube.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, well, the the the funny part was when he did come up and he was all all teeth, smiling from ear to ear.

SPEAKER_00

All his white teeth, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And the look on her face was like she had seen, I don't know, this god-like figure. Yeah, I mean, her eyes were wide open and she let go of the net. Which I thought was.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, she does. She does. She lets go with the ping pong table.

SPEAKER_04

And she just was like frozen in time.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. She does, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it was. I I thought it was. I I I'm actually gonna decant this one because I thought this scene was really good.

SPEAKER_02

I actually, you know, I think I'm gonna have to agree with you. I was gonna go with Sip It, but if we're not just talking about the chemistry, but the actual way the scene was shot and how it was done, it was different. It was we both, I think, did laugh out loud because we thought it was so cute and so fun. So yeah, so I would I would decant it also.

SPEAKER_04

It's you know, I mean, just the way she looked, standard it looked natural, and she really looked like she was into this to be like, oh my god, he's a god.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he's a god. I agree.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah,

Favorite Scenes And Best Moments

SPEAKER_04

so yeah. Well, let's move on to favorite scenes.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, let's do it. Let's do it. What's one of yours?

SPEAKER_04

Um, I kind of like it's kind of silly, but when she so she so Kimberly or Caitlin, she went to each of the the band members to get their, you know, their to see if they would be okay with doing the reunion. And of course, the other three members were. But the first one she went to was Juan's boat. And just the fact that he was the one that got all the merchandise. Yes, absolutely, yeah. I thought he had pillows with their faces on it, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And you know, there are teen girls walking around with that stuff or a shirt with the face on it, and he was so happy to have it all.

SPEAKER_04

I just thought it was so funny. And the thing was, she was trying to convince him to tell um or uh Caitlin was trying to convince him to give up the address of where where he is, where Derek was, and he was reluctant. And the way she convinced him was like, Well, you know, if I just happen to be in the place where he is and bumped up to him, you're not really telling me where he is. And I just thought that was so cute.

SPEAKER_02

It it actually was because she's like, let's say I was to be where he would be. No one told me, no one told me. She puts her hands up, she's like, No one, no one said anything. But just imagine if I knew where he was and I could just show up there. Yeah, that was that was really cute. That's why she's so good. That's why it's just it's such a quandary for me with this film, you know, because she is in everything she did, it's so good, you know.

SPEAKER_04

I know, I know. She just brings it every time. So, what was one of yours?

SPEAKER_02

Um, there's a scene, there's the park scene where uh um Caitlin and Derek, I don't know why I'm having a problem with their names tonight. Caitlin and Derek are walking, and then they sit on this bench and he kind of tells her, he's talking about how music, you know, like his music brought people joy, but he didn't get to connect to the people like he wanted to. Like he was a connection guy. He wanted to be more on one, one-on-one. He wanted to connect with the fans on a human level, right? You know, and that's a lot like Hallmark. Those Hallmark stars like to connect with their fans also on a yeah, and Hallmark kind of is a venue, they can do that a little bit, you know. Yeah, um, and then she kind of says about her program, because she's a producer of a morning show, and I just I really loved what she said, how you know they're the start of the of people's day, and she wants to put something positive in the world because people are just are you know, are just waking up and she wants to send people out with some positivity. And I just thought that was a really cool way. That's where I thought the writing was really good, right? You know, in that moment, and then you know, he he asked her to join him in picking something up later, and he's like, but it's it's not a date. And she's like, Oh, oh, it's not a date. Because he's like, it's a walking and talking meeting, and she's like, Oh, okay, a walking and talking, not a date, you know. And so they have this cute little banter towards the end. She's like, Are you trying to date me? as she's walking away. This is the way she delivered it. That scene was just it was it was really great. I did love that scene. She didn't kind of sound like you're trying to date me.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. And then she turns around and she's like, Come on.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. And you know, it reminded me so much of um, if if anyone's familiar with About Last Night, there's a scene at the very end where Demi Moore and Roblo, you know, they've they were together, then they break up, and then they they they're talking again, and they're at a park and it's in Chicago, Go Cups. And um she starts to walk away and she's kind of turning back around, and you know, and he's like, I I want to watch you. Uh is it okay if I I watch you walk away? And she's like, I hoped you, uh I hope you watch me walk away, or whatever, you know, the the saying is, and uh so and she kind of walks away, but she's kind of coy with him as she turns around. It kind of reminded me when um Kimberly's character does that with Jesse's character.

SPEAKER_04

So right, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I thought that was cool.

SPEAKER_04

It was really cute. It was really cute. Yeah, that was one of my favorite scenes, too. Yeah, all right.

SPEAKER_02

Did you have any others?

SPEAKER_04

Um, I just I like the music in this. Uh yeah, the especially their the song, what was it, hotter in July or something like that? I thought it was a dope song, man.

SPEAKER_02

You thought it was a dope? Oh, you're using the word dope.

SPEAKER_04

Dope. Isn't that what they use back in the 90s?

SPEAKER_02

Back in the day. I was that an 80s, that might have been an I don't know, 80s, 90s.

SPEAKER_04

I'll have to look it up.

SPEAKER_02

That was so dope.

SPEAKER_04

I thought it was good.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it was and he actually sings that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and he has a drink. Yeah. I thought it was like, oh, look at the drop. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Getting it, getting it.

SPEAKER_04

No, I I and so that was another one of mine. So you're favorite scenes was just the just the part where they sang that song.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah, yeah. So well, uh, I really liked um there's a scene, and this is a spoiler. So if you don't want to hear this part, pause, go watch the movie. But there's there's the shot of, well, I guess it's not a spoiler, but there's a shot of Derek where, you know, he's trying to decide if he wants to be a part of the reunion, right? And he kind of he goes up on the stage and he's by himself, and he and it's quiet, the gym is empty, and he kind of holds the mic, and you can just see he's sort of struggling with should he, should he not? And you know, he he doesn't want to do it because he doesn't want the fame and the attention brought to him. He wants to continue his work in the community center. He's having an effect on these teenage boys' lives, and he wants to keep it that way, and he thinks they don't know that he's part of a very popular boy band, you know. Um, but just that scene of him and the way it was shot and the way it gets completely silent, that was another really strongly shot scene, I thought I like that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, and wasn't wasn't the song playing in the background like really it might have been, yeah. Because he didn't want the kids to be caught up in that kind of stuff. Right, right.

SPEAKER_02

He didn't want them to think that that's what was important, right? The fame and the accolades and all of that jazz. So did you have any

Chemistry Score And Wait What Notes

SPEAKER_02

others?

SPEAKER_04

No, that was it. That was it.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

SPEAKER_04

Did you have any more?

SPEAKER_02

No, I'm good.

SPEAKER_04

Uh so you want to go into our chemistry uncorked?

SPEAKER_02

Sure.

SPEAKER_04

House wine is forgettable or lacking chemistry. Estate is warm and with chemistry, and then you have grand reserve, or I like to say grand coup. It's electric chemistry and it's on fire.

SPEAKER_02

It's on fire. So uh which bottle are you uncorking for their chemistry?

SPEAKER_04

Um it's kind of for me a twofold because at the beginning I would have said maybe uh uh uh an estate, but in the end, I thought it was it was kind of on fire. I thought they were they were having googly eyes.

SPEAKER_01

Googly eyes.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, so you know what? I'm gonna go with the the grand reserve.

SPEAKER_02

The grand reserve, because it got there eventually. It got there eventually, yeah. I was I would say estate, a solid, just you know, they had that banter, and he was never really mad at her about trying to convince him to join the reunion, and she's you know, and she was so good at delivering her lines and the banter back and forth, and yeah, so I I would definitely say estate. They just had just had some warm chemistry throughout the entire the entire movie, I think. And then of course at the end, yeah, I mean it does get a little fiery, little little sparks, a few sparks, a few sparks.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it did.

SPEAKER_04

It sure did.

SPEAKER_02

So do you have any wait what's um the only one the well the over the top anchor I did not uh like that so much. Mary. Oh, you didn't the the anchor of the host. I she like I said, she was great in some of her in some of the parts that she, you know, uh the actress herself played the role well, but that's just not I I don't know. It was a little too much for me. It was just a little too much for me. But in general, I would say there's a scene where um Derek walks into the gym and um she's there with the three other guys and the teen boys from the community center, and they are rehearsing, right? And they've been keeping it a secret from Derek.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_02

So and Caitlin and he walks in and he's kind of upset, right? But he he kind of walks in and he's like, What's going on? Because he doesn't know they've been rehearsing. He's kind of upset that the kids now know the other guys from the band, right, or the boy band, and none of those guys say anything to him.

SPEAKER_04

Nope.

SPEAKER_02

I thought that that was really weird that they weren't like, Hey Derek, you know, good to see you. Like, no one says a word to him. Well that's always like, What?

SPEAKER_04

Well, I I think Chip goes, is no, not Chip. Was it who was it that went and goes? TJ. TJ went to go see him.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, well, he went to go see him after that.

SPEAKER_04

Right, right.

SPEAKER_02

But none of them spoke to him in that moment. No, they didn't. Hey, Derek, you know, come on, man. We're just, you know, rehearsing with the kids and it's gonna be fun. Like, no one, and they weren't like, because I think a few of them hadn't seen him in a while.

SPEAKER_04

Right. No, they haven't.

SPEAKER_02

Because they didn't know where he was, right? So um, I just thought that that was a little a little weird. I was like, what? No one would even speak to him? Okay.

SPEAKER_04

You know, so what about you?

SPEAKER_02

Any weight what's for you?

SPEAKER_04

I had I actually had two. And the first one is with Mary, the the anchor of the morning show. Her voice about oh yeah, from about when the movie started to about I think it was 23 minutes in. Oh, you changed.

SPEAKER_02

I like how you clocked it. You know the exact time.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, like like I she may have gotten sick and she was hoarse. But I did and for the rest of the movie, it kind of sounded like that. So I don't know if something had happened during shooting or what, but that was like a wait, what? Wait a minute.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she did have like that raspier Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So I don't I don't know, maybe she got maybe she was sick during the the rest of the shooting or whatever. And my second one was Jordan. When they were practicing in the gym and they did that, you know, where you jump and you kind of chest bump, and then uh I can't remember who came down on his ankle, but he had hurt his ankle, and it they made such a big deal about get ice, get ice, and and everything. But the next day he was like up and dancing again. So yeah. I just thought I thought that was way, way he recovered very quickly.

SPEAKER_02

So I don't think. Yeah. For as big of a deal as they made it.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Like put his foot up on the chair, went and got the eyes. Went and got more eyes.

SPEAKER_04

He needs more eyes. And I was like, okay. All right. All right. You have any more or no, I'm good.

SPEAKER_02

We're

Cheers Jeers And Community Message

SPEAKER_02

good. We can move on to cheers and jeers. So let's talk about your biggest cheer or cheers.

SPEAKER_04

Um, just the the message behind the whole thing is, you know, coming together to help the community, to help the kids say save their safe safe place that they hang out in, you know, keep them off the streets and everything. And then giving them a chance to to participate in in the uh the bash itself at the end of of the movie. So yeah. That was my biggest cheer. What about you?

SPEAKER_02

Um, I've talked about it all throughout. I thought uh Kimberly Sus said just kills it no matter what she does. You know, I just we love that type of humor. I love the way she delivers it. She's amazing.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I thought he was really good throughout the entire thing. I I know you had an issue a little bit with him, but um, I thought Jesse was was great, you know, for his first time back on Hallmark. I enjoyed seeing him there. I thought he played the role really well.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I like that, like you said, the community outreach part of it. You have the teen boys who are who, you know, and they confide in his character, Derek, and he's helping them along, and he has found a way to fulfill what he wants to do, connecting with people. Um, and then, you know, just the end is definitely all boy band, you know, just the presentation of them. And like you are you mentioned it, the song Hotter Than July. I thought was actually you could totally that could totally be a boy band song, right? And their dance moves, just so reminiscent of all that stuff. I mean, I guess they're all in their what 30s, I don't know, 40s. I mean, some of them seem too young to have been in a boy band in the 90s. That's the only one of the jeers I would say, you know, like I'm thinking new kids on the block, you know, they're not right, they're not 25 and 30 anymore. But anywho, yeah. Um, but yeah, I thought the boy band part of it at the end was really kind of cute.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you know, because it was yeah, and they had the kids in there dancing with them too. So I thought that was that was a cool part. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I would have to say that the title, absolutely devoted to you. Uh, you know, so many people have commented and we talked about it right away. It just is so reminiscent of hopelessly devoted to you from Greece. You know, you can't help but think of that and sing that song. It's just so close to it. So I don't know if that was purposeful then with the title, but that's not a jeer, it's just something I wanted to mention.

SPEAKER_04

But did you have any jeers speaking of Jews?

SPEAKER_02

Um I've already mentioned it. I thought the talk show part was way over the top.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_02

The music was a little corny throughout the whole thing, and you know I don't like that so much.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Um let's see. I I mentioned the others. Doubtful the guys are old enough to have been in a 90s band, 2000, 2010, 2003 years later, they'd have to be I don't know. I was questioning that a little bit.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So um, yeah, what about you? Any Jeers?

SPEAKER_04

Um, yeah. I I Derek going back on his word, I mean, I didn't think that they had to do that. And I liked it Lucille, which was the director she was the director of the uh Community Center. Community center. Yeah. And she had told him, I can guarantee you 100% she's gonna she's gonna uh come through with her part of the bargain. And are you ready are you ready to give your your part? And in in the end, he or well I'm not gonna give it away, but I just think Well you can. Well he tells her no, he I'm sorry, you know, I thought about it, but nah. I I just thought that was I don't know. I didn't like it. And then I just feel like his reaction to some of the questions were you know, I just it's it's not about me. It's not, you know. His reaction to some of the questions when they were talking in the gym, she's like, you know, you're you're the one that's not giving them the chance, and she he's like, Well, this is why I don't want to give them a chance. I don't want them to, you know, have to deal with what I went through. And it's she's like, Well, it's not your choice, you know. So I just that that was kind of my jeer. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So now do you have any more jeers? Are you good? No, I'm good.

SPEAKER_04

So

Who We Would Sip With

SPEAKER_04

who would you sit down and have a glass of wine with in this particular movie?

SPEAKER_02

A thousand percent Caitlin. A thousand she would be the one. That would be the one I would want to sit down and just chat about producing a TV show. Yes. Her character. Yes, and her newfound love with Derek. So yeah, I would, I would totally. I I think she's great. Her character was great. I really did enjoy her character. So yeah, how about you? Who would you sit down? Who would you want to share a bit?

SPEAKER_04

I just thought she was so fun in this, yeah, and and it looks so natural. And to sit down, and she was a producer, she wasn't the executive producer, she was trying to get that promotion, right? And that's what her story was about in this particular movie. And um, I just thought that she stayed true to herself throughout the whole movie and helping um bring the bring that band back together for the reunion. That yeah, definitely have a glass of wine with her.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

So and just let me talk about that kiss real quick at the end.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, you can talk about that kiss at the end. Go for it.

SPEAKER_04

Did you know our friends over at Forever Hallmark Christmas, Rich and Renee, they have the mistletoe meter, and I'd really like to see what they would give this kiss.

SPEAKER_00

The kiss, the grade, what grade they would like to give it.

SPEAKER_04

We're starting to get to that Netflix type kind of kisses, okay? We uh we are, you felt like we have crossed the line. We have crossed the line.

SPEAKER_02

We're not FX yet, but maybe Netflix. Well,

The Kiss Final Ratings And Farewell

SPEAKER_02

Netflix can be, you know.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they can be steamy too. But I'm telling you, Hallmark is getting closer and closer to that.

SPEAKER_02

That that you gotta make it real, you gotta make it passionate, you gotta, you know.

SPEAKER_04

And and it wasn't just one time. And I love how the sunset was in the background. Yeah, yeah, that was pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

See, that's what I'm saying. Like there were moments in the movie that you could pick out that were really good and enjoyable, and the kiss was definitely one of them, right? They had they they they delivered with the kiss, that's for sure. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

All right. So hopefully we'll hear from from Forever Homework Christmas what they would Yeah, what they would what they would rate it on their mistletoe meter segment. All right, so time for the final pour out of five quirks. How many are you giving this one?

SPEAKER_02

I would give this one a I'd give it a three and a half.

SPEAKER_04

Three and a half.

SPEAKER_02

Three and a half quarks from me. Um, you know, I I I just it it it's weird for me in my brain, like I said. I I feel like, you know, Jesse and Kimberly were so great, and there were times that I liked the the one of the co-hosts of the morning show, Mary, the character. She was funny. I mean, I laughed out loud a couple times just because it was just so over the top. It was funny. Um, but they were in this like weird space. I don't know. It the story was there, but it didn't totally deliver for me. So um I'd go three and a half. What about you?

SPEAKER_04

Um I'm going three seven five.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, three seven, five quirks. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, it's still decent, you know.

SPEAKER_04

It was decent. I'd sit down and watch it again.

SPEAKER_02

If it was on, we would leave it on. We wouldn't turn it off.

SPEAKER_04

Let's put it that way.

SPEAKER_02

I'm uh I don't think I would sit down and re-watch it, but I mean I enjoyed all their scenes together.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah and and I and I understand what you're talking about. Like when it was them, the movie was good, right? But then when you had the little things going on on the side with the kids and everything, you know, I don't I don't know. But yeah, 375 for me.

SPEAKER_02

All right.

SPEAKER_04
